Here's an update on what is happening at the dog park in Bungala Reserve, Normanville that looks for all the world like it's ready to be used. But it's not open! What the heck? 😄
The park is at the bottom of quite a steep slope.
The ramp is there to make the park accessible to as many users as possible.
It's a ramp that has to comply with an Australian Standard. The ramp was finished three metres from the dog park gate leaving a drive through space for maintenance vehicles. We put in a reinforced concrete path that vehicles could drive over, as we thought that was better than coming off a lovely ramp onto bare ground.
Well no. After checking with their insurers Council advised us the ramp would have to go all the way to the dog park gate and be constructed to comply with that Australian Standard I mentioned earlier.🙄
So that's what we will being next week- extending the ramp. After that is done and approved, we expect the Council to take over the park and it can be opened for use.
