Hi everyone,
Just an update for whoever needs one.
I am a single/ work alone groomer. Just little old me. It does have its benefits-the dogs get to know ME and have that one on one experience.
Some grooms may take longer than expected for a number of reasons,
-dog behaviour
- coat condition
- style of groom
And
- sometimes I need to see to my kids if they are home, or even have a quick lunch...
There may be numerous other reasons that pop up. But I dont have back up help. Its just me plodding along.
Please do not wait out the front for them to be finished, it sets off the dogs in the street, and makes your dog anxious as they can hear your car pull up. By this time, im trimming their face. Holding really sharp scissors ✂️ and I really really do not want any accidents.
Please be patient with me. I know every groomer has their own skilled time, fast, slow, whatever that may be. I do consider myself a reasonable paced groomer. But you have to take into account the things that may pop up.
Longer haired grooms (where they have a long hair cut, longer than 1cm left) takes the longest, so although you think its just a trim.to me. Its ALOT of coat prep. There is probably knotts that i have to deal with. Its extra drying and fluff time (to get a better finish) and then the final haircut takes ages as its alot more fiddly than a usual summer shave off type scenario.
Also, the time it takes comes down to what i mentioned above AND how the dog behaves and handles the groom.
This work is a form of art, its not quick
It takes alot of patience and skill. And alot of time sometimes.
Please be patient and allow extra time. I need to while booking because life is a surprise right.
Thankyou to everyone who has chosen me, I take alot of pride in my work. I cant for the life of me send home a messy dog. Its just not in me.
On this note. Longer hair cuts will be getting a price increase as they take forever. 🥱😴
