🐾 Yes, I use muzzles when they’re needed.

Because I work with fearful, reactive & behaviourally challenging dogs, safety must come first—for the dog & for me.

A properly fitted basket muzzle is not a punishment & it doesn’t mean a dog is “bad.” It is a responsible safety tool that reduces the risk of a bite & helps prevent an already stressful situation from escalating.

But a muzzle is never permission to force a dog through a groom. I still watch the dog’s body language, adjust my handling & pause or end the appointment if continuing is no longer fair or safe.

Sometimes responsible grooming includes using a muzzle—and there should be no shame in that. 🐾

No freeloading fleas, please! 😂🐾
If fleas are found during your pup’s groom, unfortunately the groom has to stop while my equipment and grooming area are thoroughly sanitised. I’m also allergic to fleas and flea dirt, so please make sure your little one is protected before coming in. 💕

It actually depends on the dog’s temperament to what type of music I play….. very true!!

What damage can a little dog do? Why put a muzzle on? They can’t bite it hard. What’s with the bite gloves?Are you scared?

Small dogs with zero patience for grooming still need to be highly respected for their bite ratio. Keep in mind — they can chew through raw chicken legs and other bones. A groomer’s fingers and hands are no different.

This may sound dramatic, but I want everyone reading this to understand: grooming is extremely pleasurable and fun, but it can also be highly dangerous. One bite can put a groomer out of work for weeks.

Meet Dobby 🐾 — bite history - yes. His mum has had to help me muzzle him at times, so she’s well aware of how dangerous he can be on the table. This is where the muzzle and gloves go on. Not fearful — loads of respect for stressed doggos.

Dobby is honestly one of the most cuddly, playful little guys once the groom is finished — he just unfortunately has behaviour issues on the table. This is exactly why I specialise in the tricky ones other salons turn away 💕
