These young pale-headed rosellas were found on the ground this morning along Blackall Range Road. With the help of Wilvos, we will endeavour to release them back to their territory when they are stronger. We had to remove a clump of mud from the leg of one of these babies to visualise it's claw. As you can see from the video, they are very vocal and possibly use this as a defence mechanism. Enjoy! 😀

We have such sensational wildlife that we need to protect in our region. This beautiful echidna was collected from the side of the road and fortunately has only suffered a few broken quills. It's perfect beak is used for eating ants and termites, grinding food between the tongue and the lower part of the mouth. They have no teeth. Along with the platypus, they are egg-laying mammals, feeding the puggle with a milk patch rather than a ni**le.
Now in care, this echidna has proved that it can burrow and will be released asap.

This is a beautiful Green Catbird found in our carpark last night as we were going home. It appeared a little stunned and was being attacked by some naughty miner birds. It is much more feisty this morning but will spend a few days with our great WILVO carers in recovery. It eats mostly fruit and berries, and is common in or near rainforest areas. It is classed as a Bowerbird and has a stocky stout beak.🌳🌳

We treat a variety of animals here at Woombye Vets. We love a challenge!
Here is Mr. Pigger before his BIG surgical desexing event. He is kept as a much loved pet and plays with the dogs, a St. Bernard & a German Shepherd. He recovered uneventfully. He was 50kg then, and 60kg now 3 weeks later.
