One of my very first horse riding instructors!

Convicted murderer Sue Neill-Fraser says "huge vested interests" tried to keep her case quiet in her first public interview since Tasmania's Supreme Court struck down a parole condition stopping her talking to media.

Neill-Fraser was found guilty of murdering partner Bob Chappell, who disappeared from the couple's yacht on Hobart's River Derwent on January 26, 2009.

"You can't remain quiet about this sort of thing," Neill-Fraser said.

She served 13 years, maintains innocence and lost appeals.

Tasmania's Department of Justice is reviewing parole decisions after the court heard the board relied on AI-assisted material citing non-existent case law.

Her first interview airs on Channel Nine's 60 Minutes on Sunday at 8:40pm.

Police are searching for a "person of interest" in Franklin, south of Hobart, with a helicopter joining the search after a call about someone's welfare this afternoon.

Officers were called to the Braeside Road area in the Huon Valley just before 4pm.

Residents may notice more police in the area while the search continues.

People have been asked to stay away from the area until the matter is resolved.

Anyone who sees suspicious behaviour is asked to contact police.
