ENTRY TIME EXTENSION 🐝🐝
Hello folks! I know its been a while since we had a stand alone Apiculture (Honey/Wax) comp at our local Woodford Show. And if you've seen the news lately, you'll know its been more than tough out there for beekeepers just now.
Due to a slow start, we will be EXTENDING THE ENTRY CUT OFF TIME to allow more eligible entries to come in to Tues 16th June!
I am awaiting on my judge to reschedule some extra time to visit next week to allow this to happen. They are are very busy at Showtime each year as I'm sure you can appreciate but we are trying to make it work for your all who are keen to enter.
Please follow the schedule for your entries, available to download from Woodford Show Website (or to collect a hard copy from Showgrounds Office if you cannot print it out yourself at the library) Click the button that says "show schedules - APICULTURE" and ensure you have a registration for your bee hives with Biosecurity Queensland (as is the law in QLD for all agricultural animals) called a Hive Identification Number (HIN). Write this number on your entry form along with all your contact details.
Plain round unmarked glass bottles with white lid to standardize the competition entries are available at cost, to collect from the show steward's place ($1.10ec) and include a free sample container per entry to save honey and eliminate the previous requirement of 2x500g jars/ entry. You are welcome to keep this jar aside for future years' entries.
Thanks everyone for getting those entries in ASAP - I get its been tough cos I'm experiencing this hive heartbreak too.
Txt 0423772151 to arrange pick up & payment for comp jars or to drop off entries with completed form and entry fee ($2 each) on either Sunday Night 14th, Monday 15th, or Tuesday 16th June. Thanks a bunch :-)
