Bathing a matted cat first can actually make the matting worse. 🐾

It sounds logical to wash everything out first… but water can tighten mats.

Here’s why:
When mats get wet, the tangled fur fibres can shrink and clump together, making the knots harder, denser and tighter against your cat’s skin.
That can lead to:
• painful pulling on the skin
• tighter mats that are harder to remove
