Hawkesbury Council Pound:
Impounding lost, stray and surrendered companion animals for the city councils of Hawkesbury, Penrith, The Hills, Cumberland and Hornsby NSW.

In NSW, council impound facilities house lost pets for a set time in order that they be reclaimed by owners. All NSW Pounds work under the time allowed by law and the Companion Animals Act NSW.

ped stray animals waiting for owner collection must serve 7 days impoundment before adoption or rescue if unclaimed.
*Microchipped animals waiting for owner collection must serve 14 days impoundment before adoption or rescue if unclaimed.
*Surrendered animals have no minimum time to serve.

MEET KION, SIMBA, KOVU, KIARA & SARABI 💜

Following on from Sarafina’s story, we’d love to introduce you to five of her beautiful babies.

After having to be separated from their mum, these five little ones were taken home by our amazing team member Danielle, who lovingly bottle-fed them around the clock.

Over the past 6 weeks, Kion, Simba, Kovu, Kiara and Sarabi have blossomed into fun, beautiful and outgoing puppies. From tiny newborns needing constant care to playful little personalities, watching them grow has been incredibly rewarding.

Thanks to Danielle’s dedication, along with the love and care from our amazing team, these five babies are thriving and ready to show the world just how special they are.

Keep an eye out as we share more of their journey and introduce you to the rest of Sarafina’s beautiful babies over the next few nights.

Macey is dog-selective and would be best suited to a home where she is the only dog. Secure fencing is essential to ensure her safety and security. She would thrive with an experienced Shepherd owner who can confidently manage her behaviours and continue supporting her ongoing training and development.

SHIRA IS OUR LONG TERM RESIDENT 💔

Shira came into our shelter as a stray with her one-day-old puppies. Despite finding herself in an unfamiliar environment, she proved to be a devoted and loving mum, raising her puppies with great care. Now that all of her babies have found their forever homes, it's finally Shira's turn to find a family of her own.

Shira can be a little shy when meeting new people, but with a little patience and kindness, she quickly comes out of her shell and shows her affectionate, loyal nature. Once she trusts you, she's a wonderful companion who enjoys being by your side.
