Parvovirus Awareness 🐶⚠️
Parvo virus is highly contagious and can become serious very quickly, especially in puppies, unvaccinated dogs, and dogs with unknown vaccination history.
Please be extra vigilant if your dog has recently had contact with other dogs, visited dog parks, public areas, boarding facilities, puppy groups, or places where other dogs may have been.
Watch closely for signs such as:
Vomiting
Diarrhoea, especially bloody diarrhoea
Lethargy or weakness
Loss of appetite
Sudden decline in energy
Dehydration
Parvo spreads easily through contact with infected dogs, faeces, vomit, contaminated ground, bowls, leads, clothing, shoes, or hands. It can survive in the environment for a long time.
If your dog is showing symptoms, please phone us before coming into the clinic so our team can guide you safely and help protect other patients.
Vaccination remains one of the best ways to protect your dog. Puppies and dogs not fully up to date are at higher risk.
