The busy Spring season for trials has already seen us doing Demos at Kadina Show and a trip to Stanthorpe by road to take Ben's Charlie up for Interstate challenge where the SA team finished 4th and Ben & Charlie about 8th individually. Ben then worked in the Supreme Championship penning some tough sheep for an 86 before flying back home for work. I worked Dizzy in Supreme and although we penned our score was never going to be good enough. As the week went by it started to be possible for Ben's 86 to hold in top 20 and by thursday night it was almost certain to hold. So Ben flew back up to Brisbane and hire car to Stanthorpe arriving about 1.30 Saturday morning to work in Top 20 at 8.00. After again penning we started to dream of him making top 10 to run in final on Sunday on an aggregate score of 153. That held and so after being second out in top 10 and posting a 3 run aggregate of 206 we watched nervously as that held the lead as other dogs worked. The final run from Bill Davidson and Flake were able to better Ben and Charlie so they earned 2nd place. A wonderful achievement. We had opportunity to buy a young female from Geoff & Rosemary Gibson with bloodlines to match with the Deppelers Charlie Parker and Kerrs Ben lines and so travelled home with an extra dog. Now for Adelaide show at the weekend and then local trials at Maitland and Paskeville and State Championship at Crystal Brook by mid October and finally Mt Gambier to finish out the year.

Interesting result from the Australian Utility at Nyngan over the last weekend. It was won by Danny Kerr working Kerrs Mingle for the second time. We have at stud Kerrs Ben who is a Son of Mingle. Ben's Daughter Gramer Jazaabelle out of Gramer Condah is working exceptional well for Ruth Millard in the hills at Kulpara and also placing in 3 sheep trials. Her litter brother is available, lightly started and needing a experienced handler to bring the best out in him and is available to right home for fair price as we are needing to downsize our numbers.

We have available 2 dogs by negotiation. Gramer Willamulka (W***y), 1year 9 months and is a litter brother to Jazzabelle. He is lightly started and needs a firm hand to further develope him and is likely to suit cattle and sheep work. Badgingarra Sunny is a mature dog well suited to flock work and is easy to drive sheep with when that is required. Both are only on offer due to our need to downsize. Happy to demonstrate. Will add photos in next day or so.

🌟 Strathalbyn Field Trial 2026 🌟

This weekend was the 2026 Dogpro Strathalbyn Sheepdog Trial - a field trial course.

Ben and Gramer Valley Snoopy (Deppelers Charlie Parker x Gramer Condah) placed 2nd in the novice.
And then Ben also placed 3rd in the open with Deppelers Charlie Parker.
Some solid results for the first trial of the year.

A shoutout to Ruth Millard with Gramer Jazzabelle for coming 3rd in the improver also! Jaz is an 18 month old Kerrs Ben x Gramer Condah. We are so excited to see both doing so well!

We thank Dogpro for sponsoring trials. And the Strath Club for putting on a great trial.

Next up Birdwood next weekend!

✨Looking for the perfect pet home✨

Meet Aggie, a 6 year old border collie. Aggie lived with us for a while as a puppy before going back to her breeder after he lost her sister in an accident. For the last 5 years Aggie has been living on a working farm with some sheep work.

Unfortunately her breeder moved to the city and was unable to keep her. We took her back home a couple months ago and have had a couple looks at her on sheep. Unfortunately she is not going to cut it for what we want and her heart isn't always in it to work sheep. Therefore we are looking to find her an awesome home where she can live out her days spoiled rotten as she deserves.

Aggie is a very sweet hearted dog and is eager for attention. She will need some time to adjust to house dog life and needs a bit of exercise everyday. She has been around kids her whole life and is great with other dogs. She could potentially suit someone who has a couple of sheep but isn't suited to bigger jobs.

Aggie is vaccinated, wormed and microchipped. She will be free to the best homes on condition that she is desexed within 3 months.

A huge congratulations to Sandy Fielding and Gramer Valley Astro who last night were presented with the DogsSA Top Dog award in Rally Advanced!

We are so impressed and proud of everything Ash and Sandy have achieved together in less than 2 years together. We look forward to seeing them continue to take the world by storm and hope they are able to add a few more letters to her name.

We are so happy with how this litter has turned out and how versatile our pups are!

After three months of blood, sweat and tears, Gramer Border Collies are glad to say all Mandy x Charlie puppies have gone to their new homes.

The last of the litter, Bean aka Bear, has found a wonderful home. He is heading over the boarder and back to his roots with Mike Deppeler (well technically Jude), who bred both Charlie and Mandy. They say he reminds them of their old dog Bear (Mandys sire) who they lost last year at 17.

We are super excited to see how all these pups turn out in their new homes and hope they all become the excellent little workers we know they should be.
