The season of daredevil turtles is on the way! 🐢

Spring is here, which means our eastern long-neck turtles are going to start to be on the move.

As they leave the water looking for nesting spots, many have to cross roads.
Please slow down, keep an eye out, and give them plenty of space.

Once he has sneakily gotten away from me, I had to let him go back into the car 🫣🤣

So many people walked past this snake and didn’t see it!
Eastern Brown Snake - Dangerously venomous

I was called by a wonderful concerned citizen, who has noticed this massive brown snake (remember I’m 160cm/ 5”2’)

Dogs and children had walked pasted and never even knew it was there… which tells you something doesn’t it.
It has no interest in anyone that walked by!

But it was still the right thing to do, because a dog noticed and attacking or a child accidentally stepping on it would’ve made this EB switch on defensive mode.

A good catch makes me a little proud of myself 😄
Red Bellied Black Snake - venomous.

There was a high risk of this snake going down a drain if I didn’t get to it fast enough.
But If I approach too quickly, I might’ve scared it away.

So, excuse me, if I I seem a bit too pleased with myself, but I do not like leaving a job empty handed.

How embarrassing! 🤣🤣 (go ahead and laugh.. I did)
You have to see what this snake did next!

I was made to look like a fool by this beautiful Diamond Python!
AND my shirt is inside out 🫣🫪 what a tag dag!

They can be so cheeky, sneaky and swift!
And there is a part two to this story 😅😅

Snake Catcher Bronte! Help me! It’s a Brown Snake!
(Are you sure? Look again)

Golden-Crowned snakes are a very regular call out for me.
People see the brown scales and automatically assume one of the Big Bads of the snake world is right in front of them!

GCS have quite a few physical differences to that of a EBS..
Just quickly without counting scales, it’s in the head shape, the eyes, the golden crown, and that’s without it going into its threatening pose to show off that pink belly and tell me they are a big scary danger noodle. (Yes they are mildly venomous)

But of course, if you aren’t sure, treat it as if it could a brown snake… leave them alone, give them space and call a professional for advice! Here’s my number!
