Do you know how easy it is to take a photo of Pepper the Sulphur-crested Cockatoo?

**SO EASY.** 😂

You simply hold up a camera...

And Pepper goes:

**“Yesssssssss?”** 👀🦜😂

No chasing her around.

No trying to get her attention.

No making ridiculous noises behind the camera.

Just point the camera at her and she is **READY.** 🤣📸

Honestly, Pepper acts like she has been waiting her entire life for someone to photograph her.

“Is this my good side?”

“Are you getting my crest?”

“Would you like another photo?”

“Perhaps a close-up?” 😂

Meanwhile, we're standing there thinking...

**Well, this is bloody convenient!** 🤣

Some of our feathered guests make us work VERY hard for a decent photo.

Jaspa **LOVES** a good game of tuggy! 🐶🧸❤️

There is just one tiny problem...

He doesn't actually want **YOU** to touch the tuggy. 😂

He wants to have it.

He wants to carry it.

He wants to chew it.

He wants to proudly parade it around the exercise field...

But the second you try to grab the other end?

**ABSOLUTELY NOT.** 🤣

“Excuse me, human. This is MY tuggy. You may admire it from a respectful distance.” 😂

And honestly, we find this hilarious.

Because what is the point of having a tug-of-war toy if you're not prepared to participate in the war?! 🤣🐾

Jaspa has clearly decided that the official game is actually:

Not quite as catchy, but apparently much more to his liking! 😂

We absolutely love this silly boy and his very specific rules for playtime.

**Cat & Archie... just casually hanging out.** 🦜❤️

If you've been following us for a while, you'll probably already know that our bird room superstar **Cat** has a pretty special relationship with our feathered guests.

And Archie the Ecky is clearly very happy to be part of the club! 🥰🦜

There is something so lovely about seeing the bond our team builds with the birds who come to stay with us.

Some want cuddles.

Some want scratches.

Some want to help with breakfast. 😂

And some, like Archie, just seem perfectly happy to hang out with Cat and enjoy a little company.

We're pretty sure Cat has collected quite the fan club in our bird room by now...

And honestly, we're not surprised! ❤️

He doesn't want to be a vet.

He doesn't want to be a police dog.

He doesn't even want to be a famous Instagram dog.

**Mac dreams of becoming the world's FIRST PROFESSIONAL CANINE SOCCER PLAYER!** 😂⚽

And honestly, after watching this boy with a ball, we're starting to think he might actually have what it takes! 🐾

Speed? ✅
Determination? ✅
Ball obsession? **ABSOLUTELY!** 😂
Teamwork? ...we're still working on that one. 🤣

The exercise field isn't just a field to him...

🎂 **HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BISCUIT!** 🎂🐶❤️

Someone very special had a birthday while they were staying with us!

Our gorgeous Beagle boy **Biscuit** got to celebrate his birthday right here at Paws, Claws & Beaks Retreat. 🥰🐾

And of course, his mum made sure he didn't miss out!

She very thoughtfully left us a special birthday treat to give to him while he was boarding with us. 🎁🎂❤️

So while Mum and Dad couldn't be here to celebrate with their handsome boy, we were more than happy to make sure Biscuit still got his little birthday moment!

And honestly... what better way to spend your birthday than being thoroughly spoiled while on holiday?! 😂🐶

We have a very important question to answer today…

**Why are approximately 99% of Bluey’s photos just… his butt?** 🍑😂

Easy.

Because **Bluey is a SNIFFER.** 👃🐶

This boy is on a mission.

Every single time Bluey heads out into the exercise field, he has one very important job to do…

**FIGURE OUT WHO HAS BEEN HERE BEFORE HIM.** 😂

He needs to know:

👃 Who was here?
👃 How long were they here?
👃 Where did they go?
👃 What did they do?
👃 And most importantly… **WHAT DID THEY EAT?!** 😂

Forget running around.

Forget playing with toys.

Forget posing nicely for Mum’s camera.

Bluey has **INVESTIGATING TO DO.**

He spends his entire time in the exercise field with his nose firmly attached to the ground, working through every single scent left behind by the dogs who came before him.

And because Bluey is so committed to his investigation, every time we try to get a nice photo of him, all we get is…

**BUTT.** 😂📸

Honestly, we don't even think Bluey knows we're there taking photos.

He's far too busy reading the latest instalment of the **Exercise Field Daily Newspaper.** 📰👃🤣

Everyone, please take a moment to appreciate our gorgeous girl **Roxy the Sulphur-crested Cockatoo!** 🥹💕

Because honestly... **HOW CUTE IS SHE?!**

There's just something about a Sulphur-crested Cockatoo that makes it impossible not to stop and say hello. Those big beautiful eyes, that fabulous crest and that cheeky little personality! 😂🦜

Roxy has been busy being her usual gorgeous self while staying with us, and we are absolutely loving having her around.

Whether she's hanging out with the team, keeping an eye on what's happening around the bird room or simply looking ridiculously cute...

Roxy knows how to steal the spotlight! 😍

Just look at these two little cuties! 🥹❤️

Hugo and Ruby have been busy making the most of their time with us, and honestly… **how bloody adorable are they?!**

There is something about a little duo like this that just makes our hearts happy. 🐶💕 Whether they're off exploring, having a little play or simply hanging out together, these two are never far from each other.

And those faces?! 😍

We don't know what Hugo and Ruby have been discussing while they've been here, but we're pretty sure it involves important things like:

“Where are we going next?”
“Can we have another play?”
“Do you think they'll give us more cuddles?” 😂

Whatever they're up to, they certainly seem to be having a wonderful time!

If you have been following us for a while, you will know there is **nothing I love more** than a big dog + little dog sibling duo. 😂❤️

I don't know what it is about them, but I absolutely **ADORE IT!**

And what makes me laugh even more?

**The little dog is nearly ALWAYS the boy!** 🤣

You can literally see their sibling dynamic just by looking at these photos. 😂

Myf is clearly **THE BOSS.** 👑🐶

She is out here leading the way, deciding where they're going, what they're doing and generally making sure everything is happening exactly as she thinks it should.

And little Taika?

He's just following along behind her like a **good little boy.** 😂❤️

I absolutely love watching these mismatched sibling pairs when they come to stay with us. The size difference makes me laugh every single time, but it's their little personalities together that really gets me.

✈️🐾 MEET REX (if you haven’t already)... ONE OF OUR FIFO DOGS! 🐾✈️

Some of our guests come for a holiday… but our gorgeous Rex is a little bit different. ❤️

Rex is what we like to call our **FIFO dog!** 😂

His parents work FIFO, which means Rex spends part of his time living with us here at Paws, Claws and Beaks Retreat while Mum and Dad are away working.

And honestly… we don't think Rex minds one little bit! 🥰🐶

As you can see from that gorgeous happy face, this boy absolutely **LOVES** coming to stay with us.

He gets to spend his days getting plenty of attention, enjoying his exercise field time, having cuddles, making the most of all the smells and adventures around the retreat… and generally being the very spoiled boy that he is. 🐾💕

We love having Rex here so regularly because he's not just a guest anymore — he's part of the Paws, Claws and Beaks family! ❤️

And the best part?

When his parents head back to work, Rex gets to come back for another little staycation with us. 🥹

So while Mum and Dad are off working hard, Rex is over here living his **best FIFO life!** 😂🐶✈️

Look at that face… we think he's pretty happy with the arrangement! ❤️
