What happens when you are having so much fun at doggie daycare? You don’t watch where you are going and run straight into a wall! (Shout out Warwick Veterinary Hospital for the correct guess!😄)

Poor Teddy came into our clinic after his run in with the wall and it was there we realised he had fractured one of his incisors, poor baby! This tooth was promptly removed and teddy went home a much happier boy! ❤️

𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗻𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 💙

This week is Veterinary Nurse & Technologist Awareness Week, and we’re taking the opportunity to celebrate the wonderful people who support our patients, clients and veterinary teams across Forrestfield Vet Hospital and High Wycombe Vet Hospital.

A big shout-out to Bianca, Practice Manager at High Wycombe, and Ruby, Practice Manager at Forrestfield, along with our Registered Veterinary Nurses Belinda, Sheriden, Christian, Emma, Georja and Holly.

We’d also like to recognise Annabelle and Lynell, our Animal Attendants, who play an important role in supporting the team and helping care for our patients each day.

From monitoring anaesthetics and assisting with procedures, to caring for hospital patients, comforting nervous pets, supporting clients and keeping two busy clinics running smoothly, there is so much that happens behind the scenes.

Their work often goes unseen, but the difference they make is enormous.

𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻… 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵!

Spring is here, and while we’re freshening up our homes and gardens, it’s also a great time to check in on your pet.

Have you noticed your pet:

• Licking or chewing their paws
• Sneezing more than usual
• Developing a red or irritated belly
• Scratching, rubbing or seeming uncomfortable?

These signs can be linked to 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀, but fleas, mites and other parasites can also cause irritation and inflammation.

The tricky part is that ongoing scratching and licking can quickly lead to broken skin, secondary infections and a much more uncomfortable pet.

𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺.

If your pet is showing any of these signs, book a check-up with our team so we can work out what’s causing it and help get them comfortable again.

Getting your cat sterilised is a great way to;

Handsome man Duke here came in to our clinic for his castration and soon found himself helping our nurses on reception whilst he was recovering from his procedure.
