🐴 SEPTEMBER STAFFING UPDATE 🐴

A little heads-up for our clients as we head into September πŸ’™

Our clinic will be operating with reduced staffing throughout September, so we ask that, where possible, elective procedures are either booked into the clinic or delayed until October.

This includes procedures such as:
🦷 Dentals
βœ‚οΈ Geldings
πŸ’‰ Other routine/elective procedures

Sick and urgent patients will always remain our priority, and we will continue to provide care for horses requiring veterinary attention.

If your horse needs a routine procedure, please get in touch with the clinic to discuss the best option for September or book ahead for October.

Thank you for your understanding and patience while our team navigates a busy month! πŸŽπŸ’™

Earlier this month, Dr Hannah had the opportunity to attend an intensive four-day equine lameness course, learning alongside equine veterinarians from Australia, New Zealand, and around the world.

The course consisted of a full day of lectures followed by three days of hands-on practical training, covering:

βœ”οΈ Diagnostic nerve blocks and intra-articular joint injections
βœ”οΈ Ultrasound of the lower limb tendons and ligaments
βœ”οΈ Advanced equine radiography techniques
βœ”οΈ Lameness investigation and diagnostic decision-making

At Southwest Equine, all of our veterinarians are committed to ongoing professional development, regularly attending continuing education opportunities and networking with colleagues to ensure we stay up to date with the latest advances in equine veterinary medicine. We look forward to bringing these new skills and ideas back to our clinic as we continue to provide our clients with the latest evidence-based approaches to diagnosing and treating lameness.

A huge thank you to The Equine Practice Company, Sue Dyson, and all of the instructors for delivering such an outstanding course. We look forward to putting what we’ve learned into practice and continuing to provide the best possible care for our beloved equine patients. 🐴
