Spring is here and it’s heating up already! 🐍 snakes will be on the move soon. A friendly reminder to consider getting pet insurance before any unlucky encounters with snakes this season. It’s cheaper than you think! Treating snakebites is not!

There are lots of companies out there that provide pet insurance, do your homework and read the fine print but basic cover for snakebite is usually covered in even the most basic policies. I just did a hypothetical quote for a 3 year old Jack Russell and it was $43 a month.

🎓 From Classroom to Clinic with the Next Generation of Vets!

We’ve had Paris from JCU Townsville and Isobel from the University of Melbourne joining us over the past few weeks for their veterinary placements, getting some real-life experience in the clinic and getting stuck into the day-to-day world of mixed practice veterinary medicine.

A big thank you to both girls for all your help, we hope you’ve had a great experience and learnt plenty along the way. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for you both!

If you’re a vet student keen to get stuck in, learn heaps, and have a few laughs along the way, email or call the clinic to secure a spot. Limited spaces available - don’t leave it too late, 2027 is already filling up! ☎️

⭐️⭐️⭐️. Patient Spotlight: Nova ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This gorgeous girl has been working hard on her weight loss journey, and we’re so proud of the progress she’s made! 🎉

Earlier this year, Nova presented to the clinic with a number of underlying health concerns that were likely related to being overweight for her size and body condition. Our team worked closely with her family to develop a personalised weight loss program, tailored specifically to her breed, age, activity level and feeding routine.

As part of her journey, Nova was started on a prescription veterinary weight management diet. These diets are scientifically formulated to provide complete nutrition while safely reducing calorie intake, helping pets lose weight without compromising their health.

Reaching a healthy weight isn’t just about looking good—it’s about feeling better. Maintaining an ideal body condition can improve mobility, reduce pressure on joints, decrease the risk of many diseases, and help our pets live longer, happier lives.

In February, Nova weighed 20.1 kg with a body condition score of 4.5/5. This week, she tipped the scales at an incredible 14.6 kg, reaching her ideal body condition! 🎉

The transformation has been more than just the number on the scales. Since losing weight, Nova has had no gastrointestinal upsets, her mobility has improved, there’s much less strain on her joints. Best of all, her owners tell us she’s like a completely different dog—happier, more energetic, and loving life again. 🩷

A huge congratulations to Nova and her dedicated family. Their commitment and consistency have made all the difference, and we’re so proud of what they’ve achieved together.

Every healthy choice adds up—and Nova is proof that small changes can make a life-changing difference. 🐾🩷

Would you skip pain relief?
Yeah… we didn’t think so. 😅

Lamb marking is an essential part of sheep management, but pain relief is now an important part of best practice too.

With different options that will suit everyone, it is now quick and easy to provide pain relief to your lambs that will help improve animal welfare and support a smoother recovery after marking.
