HEAT WAVE 🥵🤍

dogs can overheat much faster than people. Please take extra care of your pets. Always provide unlimited access to clean, fresh water and plenty of shade or cool resting areas (avoid carpet or heat-holding surfaces). Walk and exercise only in the early morning or late evening, and keep activity light. It’s better to miss a day of walking then to overheat your dog, your dog will not mind missing a walk.
You can help dogs cool down by wetting their paws, belly, and legs, or offering a shallow splash in cool (not icy) water.

Never leave dogs in parked cars – even for a minute – as temperatures can become fatal very quickly. Avoid hot pavement, concrete, and sand, which can burn paws and worsen heat stress.
Short hair cuts for doodles is beneficial, doodles don’t have a standard coat like a purebred golden retriever.
Their coat serves no purpose in cooling down, it traps heat and doesn’t breathe.

Puppies, senior dogs, overweight dogs, and short-nosed breeds (such as pugs, bulldogs, boxers, shih tzus, and French bulldogs) are especially vulnerable.

Watch closely for signs of heat stress: excessive panting, difficulty breathing, drooling, rapid heart rate, weakness, vomiting, diarrhea, confusion, collapse, or seizures. If you notice any of these, move your dog to a cool area immediately, offer small amounts of water, gently cool them with lukewarm water, and contact your vet straight away. A little prevention can save a life.
