Hair Of The Dog Rescue Inc We are a Victorian based rescue that is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of dogs. RE146926 Welcome to our page!

We are a newly formed Gippsland based dog rescue. We are a strong team of close friends who have all been working passionately in rescue for many years combined. We decided now was the time to come together and start our own rescue. This allows us to fully dedicate our passion of animals and animal rescue into developing a rescue based on our vast experience. We will cover all of Victoria and hope

to branch out interstate in the future. Our rescues will come from pounds, shelters and community re homing. All of our rescue dogs will be vet assessed and treated as soon as they come into our care. They will also be temperament tested. They will be desexed, microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations and worming etc before being re homed. Our adoption process will not be first to apply but based on who we believe will best suit each individual dogs needs. The countdown is officially on! In just 16 weeks, dogs and their humans will be hitting the trails at Rokeby Recreation Reserve on 3rd & 4th October 2026 for an unforgettable weekend of adventure, community, and fundraising.
Barkin’ Mad Ultra is more than just a race – it’s a chance for dogs to run for dogs. Every registration helps support Aus Hair of the Dog Rescue Inc, a volunteer-run rescue based in Warragul, Gippsland, dedicated to giving dogs a second chance at life.
Whether you’re an experienced trail runner or simply love getting outdoors with your four-legged best friend, there is a challenge for everyone.

Meet Kevin!

Kevin is a 1 year old golden retriever who is now looking for his furever home.

He is a beautiful and loving Goldie who is full of energy.
This beautiful boy loves walks along the beach and trail and he loves chicken!
He gets on well with cats and young children. However, he does like to chew the cats bed. We believe he would be suitable for a family who has time at home with him.

He comes desexed with a gastropexy and fully vaccinated. He’s got some great manners already but needs more training at dog school.

Chalk and cheese but Two pairs in a pod.

Dixie is a 5 year old French bulldog that loves to protect her brother.

Belvedere is a 4 year old Bichon frise who adores his sister.

These two young healthy dogs came to us recently as a bonded pair.

They love to play. They love each other and they love chasing chickens.

They are a bonded pair and would ideally be rehoused together. We would suggest not a cat household. They are best suited as the only dogs in the household. Dixie is a little dog reactive. Dog depending. They are child friendly.

This little 9 week old bundle of joy is the smallest of her litter and is the last to find her furever home.

Billie is a jugalier (pug x cavie x jack Russell). She has a powerful little personality and loves giving kisses.

Puppies take a lot of work so you need to be willing to put in the hours to continue her toilet training and dog training.

She is tiny and mighty, so if you want a little Billie in your life. Shoot us a DM about yourself, your phone number, your living situation e.g suburban vs rural, information about any other dogs you might have and if you have had pugs before.

This is a very difficult post yesterday The beautiful Lola Elizabeth and the sweet Prudence Hope both tragically lost their lives to a snake bite. These girls have known nothing but love, our family are devastated and life will not be the same without the antics of these two.
