Meet Handsome Bailey! 😍

This gorgeous boy, Bailey, recently visited Baw Baw Paws for his castration (desexing) procedure. We’re happy to say that Bailey’s surgery went well, and he recovered smoothly from anaesthesia. He’s now doing great and back to being his happy, handsome self! 🥰 A big thank you to Bailey’s wonderful family for bringing him in at the right time and making his health and wellbeing a priority.

Why is castration important for male dogs?
Castration can provide several benefits, including:

 Prevents unwanted litters – helping reduce accidental breeding and unwanted puppies.
 Reduces the risk of certain health problems – including testicular cancer and some prostate-related conditions.
 Can help reduce certain behaviours – such as roaming, urine marking and some hormone-driven behaviours.
 Helps with responsible pet ownership – contributing to better overall pet population management.

Every dog is different, and the ideal timing for castration can depend on their age, breed, size, health and lifestyle.

🐾 Remi’s Journey: From Pain to Recovery ❤️

Remi was a happy and healthy girl until her family noticed some accidents at home and blood in her urine. They knew something wasn’t right and brought her in for a check-up.

Our team performed further investigations, and X-rays and ultrasound revealed multiple large bladder stones causing her discomfort.

Thanks to her family’s quick decision, Remi underwent surgery to remove the stones and is now back to her happy self — enjoying life, feeling comfortable, and receiving lots of love at home. ❤️

A big thank you to Remi’s family for trusting our team. Early attention can make all the difference for our furry friends. 🐶🐾

❤️ Remi’s Journey: A Little Heroine with a Big Recovery ❤️

Remi had always been a happy and healthy girl, eating, drinking, and doing everything normally. But when her family noticed she started having a few accidents at home and there was blood in her urine, they knew something wasn’t right.

Our veterinary team acted quickly and performed further investigations. An ultrasound and X-rays revealed multiple large bladder stones that were causing Remi discomfort and bloody urine.

Remi’s family made the right decision and approved urgent surgery to remove the stones, giving her the best chance for a comfortable and healthy life.

Remi recovered beautifully and is now back to being her happy self — feeling great, enjoying life, and receiving lots of love from her family. ❤️

Honey’s Emergency Journey: A Happy Ending ❤️

Honey started vomiting undigested food and had a couple of episodes of vomiting overnight. Her loving family noticed something concerning in her vomit — pieces of plastic. They did the right thing and brought Honey straight to Baw Baw Paws without delay.

Our veterinary team performed a thorough clinical examination and, with no time wasted, took abdominal radiographs (X-rays). The images revealed radio-opaque foreign material present in Honey’s stomach and intestines, confirming that she had ingested plastic that was causing a serious problem.
Honey needed surgery, and our dedicated vet team carefully removed all the plastic material that was stuck in her stomach and intestines. Thankfully, Honey recovered smoothly and is now back to her happy self — just look at that beautiful smile in the photo! 🥰😍

A well-deserved thank you to Honey’s family for recognising the signs and bringing her to us promptly. Acting quickly made a huge difference in Honey’s recovery.
