⭐️ KENSINGTON RF ⭐️

Sometimes the pedigree says plenty… and then they come out with the looks, movement AND the brain to match.

Kensington RF
Approx 17.1hh
DOB 24.10.23

By imported KWPN stallion Keystone Kashmir (Desperado NOP x Jazz x Contango), full brother to Elite stallion Asgards Ibiza.

His Dam Merricks Sonique (Stedinger x Waldfee) is one of Alicia Ryan’s international stars and is currently competing successfully at Small Tour in Europe with impressive scores. In 2023 she represented Australia on the world stage at Ermelo in the 7yo Young Horse Championships 🇦🇺

Ken is an embryo transfer from this exceptional performance mare and no expense has been spared on his upbringing.

We have recently started Ken under saddle and he has been an absolute pleasure from the word go.

He is our gentle BFG with a wise old soul temperament and a genuine can do attitude. Nothing seems to be a big deal and he genuinely seems to enjoy his work.

Under saddle he shows three super paces with a balanced swinging trot, an easy uphill canter and a natural ability to push from behind. For a horse standing around 17.1hh he certainly doesn’t feel like a big horse to ride and has a really natural uphill way of going.

Probably one of our favourite things about him though is his brain.

He is uncomplicated, willing and easy going. Happy in the arena, happy wandering around the farm and equally happy heading out through the open paddocks. No fuss, he just gets on with it.

Safe to say Ken has very quickly become a stable favourite ❤️

He has recently passed a full pre purchase veterinary examination with clean x-rays.

For someone looking for a serious dressage prospect with proven international performance behind him, three quality paces and most importantly a genuinely lovely brain, Kensington RF is a very exciting horse for the future.
He is priced to sell due to his rider staying internationally

SOLD
There are sale horses… and then there are the ones everyone in the barn keeps finding an excuse to ride. Scarlet is definitely the latter. 😂

Approx. 15.3hh | DOB 22/11/2014
Sommerset D’Isle x Holly Go Lightly

Scarlet came to us to find her next person and has very quickly become one of those mares we are all going to be genuinely sad to see leave.

She is a lovely forward moving mare who genuinely enjoys her work. She takes you with her without being hot or silly, is honest, willing and gives you that great feeling of having a horse in front of your leg who actually wants to do the job.

Scarlet has had Elementary starts with her Adult Owner Rider following a very successful Novice career, with multiple wins, championships and plenty of rugs along the way. There is still work to do to consolidate her Elementary education, but she is incredibly trainable and gives you a really exciting feeling for the work ahead.

She has also commenced piaffe and passage in hand with Allan Collette, returning with fantastic feedback and showing a natural ability for the collected work.

One of the things that has probably impressed us most, though, is just how adaptable she is.

Our groom has been having lessons on Scarlet and this mare has been an absolute superstar for her. She never took advantage or made things difficult she simply looked after her, showed her the ropes and helped her find that next level in her riding. The grin after every ride pretty much says it all.

Scarlet also loves getting out of the arena for a ride, stands patiently at the tie ups with zero fuss and is just a genuinely nice horse to have in the barn.

And she is seriously pretty. Underneath the winter fluff is a beautiful, quality mare with the movement and presence to make a cracking Show Hunter as well.

For an Adult Owner Rider wanting a quality horse to continue through the levels, someone looking for an educated partner to learn from, or a competitive rider wanting a super mare to develop further Scarlet ticks a lot of boxes that are bloody hard to find in the one horse.

She is forward, honest, educated, competitive, kind and genuinely FUN to ride.

💎 This little guy has us pretty excited… and when you watch him move, you’ll see why. 💎

FS Mr Right (GRP – frozen semen) x Richlands Magic (ARP)
DOB: 29/12/2024
Gelding
Currently measuring 13.3hh and a bit

This little guy has movement well above average. A super hind leg, natural cadence, plenty of ground cover and that little bit of something you just can’t teach them.

His pedigree is pretty exciting too. His sire FS Mr Right certainly needs no introduction in the German Riding Pony world. He has produced more than 55 licensed sons and 25 State Premium mares, with progeny including Bundeschampion Movie Star, FS Mr President and advanced level Mr Universum. Here in Australia, his son Mr Right Now was crowned the 4yo Young Pony Champion.

Mum certainly wasn’t just there to make babies either 😂

Richlands Magic was an established Elementary dressage pony before retiring to breeding and was incredibly successful throughout her competition career regularly, coming home with the rugs.

So this boy has performance on both sides of his pedigree, and looking at the way he moves now, it looks like he got the memo!

He has had his weanling prep, yearling prep and is currently back in for a show prep. He is well handled, gelded and eligible for multiple registrations, ACE assessed Premium.

Currently 13.3hh+ with plenty of growing and developing still to do, we think he has all the ingredients to make a seriously exciting performance pony, while certainly being pretty enough to head down the show ring path as well.

We genuinely rate this little guy and have kept him this long for a reason, but the reality is we simply can’t keep them all and it’s time for him to find his person.

🎥 Watch the video I think he does a pretty good job of selling himself.

💎 Sometimes the horse tells the story better than any sales advert ever could… 💎

A little reel from Paityn’s lesson on her absolute favourite in the stable, Scarlett ❤️

And this is probably one of the biggest compliments we can give this mare.

Scarlett is a naturally forward, educated competition mare who knows far more than Paityn does at this stage of her riding but, not once did she take advantage of that.

Instead, she looked after her.

She waited for her.
She listened.
And when Paityn got it right, Scarlett quietly showed her what the next step was supposed to feel like.

The grin pretty much says the rest. 😂❤️

This is why we all love this little mare so much.

She’s forward and loves her work, but she’s honest with no dirt. She has had a very successful Novice career with multiple wins and championships, has had Elementary starts with her owner and has even begun some piaffe and passage work in hand.

But for us, watching her happily step down a gear and teach another rider says just as much about her as any ribbon ever could.

She’s also the mare that loves getting out of the arena for a ride and will happily stand at the truck waiting for her people without a fuss.

Good horses win ribbons. Really good horses can teach you something. 💎

Scarlett is currently looking for her next person.

Today we are posting something totally NON horse related… and we couldn’t be prouder. ❤️🏉

Today is about celebrating our amazing Head Groom, the glue to our barn and someone who has become such an important part of the SLH family - Paityn.

Because apparently running our barn, riding horses and keeping all of us organised isn’t enough… she also happens to be a pretty bloody talented footballer! 😂

Paityn has been recognised amongst Regional Victoria’s best women’s AFL footballers, and this is one achievement we simply couldn’t let pass without making a huge fuss about her.

Anyone who knows Paityn knows just how humble she is. She doesn’t look for recognition, she doesn’t sing her own praises and she certainly won’t tell you how good she is at something. She just quietly puts her head down, works incredibly hard and gives absolutely everything she has to whatever she takes on.

And that makes achievements like this even more special.

We have had the absolute privilege of watching this young woman grow in so many areas of her life.

She first came into our barn as a part time stable hand and today she runs it. The responsibility she has taken on and the person she has grown into along the way makes us enormously proud.

Then there is her riding. ❤️🐴

The rider Paityn is today compared to the girl who first walked through our gates is almost unrecognisable. Her confidence, feel and ability have come such a long way, and she has worked incredibly hard for every bit of that progress.

But today, the horses can take a back seat. 😂

Today we celebrate the footballer. 🏉

Paityn, to be recognised amongst some of the best women’s AFL footballers in Regional Victoria is an incredible achievement and one you should be enormously proud of.

We certainly are. 🎊🎉🍾

But even more than the footballer, rider or Head Groom, we’re proud of you.

Somewhere along the way you became far more than someone who works for us. You became part of our lives, part of our family and someone we genuinely couldn’t imagine SLH without.

We are so incredibly grateful that life brought you through our barn doors, and watching you continue to grow, succeed and chase the things you love is pretty bloody special.

Congratulations Paityn. ❤️🏉

From part time stable hand, to running our barn, to becoming a beautiful rider… and now being recognised amongst Regional Victoria’s best on the footy field.

Is there anything you can’t do?!

We are beyond proud of you. ❤️

Well… Boneo Park, you were a BIG one! 😂🐴🏆

8 tests. 4 horses. 1 rider. Each Day. So 16 tests in total!
And one slightly overworked squeaky wheel running around behind the scenes keeping the whole circus moving. 🙋‍♀️😂

Safe to say the 👣 are a little tender today!

But what a weekend we had…

🥇🥈 Gallivant OLD (Gally) owned by Elana Sterley

Gally clearly understood the assignment!
Two super Novice tests, two great scores and a 🥇 & 🥈 to bring home. He was an absolute little superstar and just keeps stepping up every time we take him out.

Then there was Top Note (Casper) owned by Melissa Clayton.

Day 1 Casper took one look around Boneo and thought there was A LOT going on! 😂 Between construction, horses and everything happening around the arenas, his little brain was fairly full.
So Day 1 became less about the scoreboard and more about exposure, stepping up a level and learning that he could still do his job amongst all the chaos. He tried so hard to stay with Chris and there were some really super pieces of work, particularly in his second test.
Day 2… Casper was back! 🙌
Much more settled, much more himself and rewarded with a 🥉 & 4th in his Prelims.
Another outing in the experience bank for this beautiful horse. ❤️

🐧 Florenstan SD (Penguin) owned by Clair Arnold

Our resident Penguin had a beautifully consistent weekend, finishing 🥉 & 4th in his Prelims before putting his big boy pants on and stepping up to Novice, where he finished just outside the placings.
For those who know this horse’s story, you’ll understand why his results only tell a tiny part of it.
He arrived to us a pretty broken and damaged horse. To now see him confidently getting on the truck, going to different venues, competing and shining makes us incredibly proud.
He has taught us one very important rule:
Everything is absolutely fine… provided it is done 🐧 Penguin’s way.
Apparently we work for him now. 😂

And then we have…

🤦‍♀️ Paradise Valley Johnny Depp (Johnny) owned by Lyn Spiers.

Johnny had a very strong theme for the weekend:
“I’ll do it… but I have some conditions.” 😂
Ear bonnet ON.
Actually, ear bonnet OFF.
Bridle numbers on the bridle? Absolutely not.
Saddlecloth please.
Righto Johnny. Whatever keeps you happy mate. 🙈😂
This pony is seriously cool and the work he gives us at home is getting closer and closer to appearing consistently in the competition arena. (We have it in the warm up 🤦🏼‍♀️
For now, we’ll happily take the super work he gives us, laugh at the Johnny moments, and appreciate that those moments are becoming fewer and fewer.

But the absolute highlight of the weekend had to be this one… ❤️

🌟 PRIMROSE COURT ZILLIONAIRE 🌟

THE BIG BOY IS BACK!

After what feels like forever, having our beautiful stallion back down that centreline was pretty bloody special.
He gave Chris some seriously super work. There was a little rust to shake off and stringing everything together inside the white boards resulted in a few expensive mistakes… but he still managed 🥈 in BOTH of his Advanced tests!
There is so much more sitting there and we are just thrilled to have him back out doing his thing. ❤️
Of course, weekends like this simply don’t happen without a village.
A massive thank you to David Shoobridge for warming up the boss and for the coaching, mentorship, guidance and probably most importantly the honesty he continually gives us. We are incredibly grateful.

Then there’s the crew holding the fort at home. ❤️

Knowing Paityn has the barn under control, the horses worked and everything running while we’re away is an enormous comfort. Tamika, Jay and Elouise thank you for jumping in and helping her keep all those wheels turning.

And to our amazing owners thank you for trusting us with your horses and allowing us to be part of their journeys. The ribbons are lovely, but watching these horses develop, gain confidence and become better versions of themselves is the part we really love.

And finally, Case, Arden and Lyn our fabulous competition crew who help make these weekends possible and ensure there is NEVER a shortage of laughs. 😂❤️

So that’s Boneo done…

🏆 Some ribbons
🐴 Lots of progress
😂 Plenty of laughs
🤦‍♀️ A few “Johnny moments”
🐧 Everything done Penguin’s way
👣 And one very sore pair of feet.

Wouldn’t have it any other way. ❤️

Huge thank you to Boneo Park for a super comp and Angus for one tough draw. 😜

This little guy is an absolute legend and is looking for his next best friend due to his owners study commitments.
SLH Don Phillip (Don Phillino)x Richlands Magic (ARP)
DOB: 22/11/2016 Approximately 15.2–15.3hh, this quality gelding is offered for sale due to his owner’s study commitments.
A genuine, fun horse with a wonderful temperament, he has been well exposed and is the type that loves having a job. He has competed in dressage, attended numerous clinics, and has recently started his jumping career. While still green over fences, he is proving to be bold, honest, and thoroughly enjoys it.
Currently training Elementary Dressage, he has established, correct flatwork and is a pleasure to ride. He is a super fun, versatile mount that would suit someone looking to continue progressing in dressage while also enjoying clinics, jumping, and getting out and about.
With his kind nature, trainable attitude, and willingness to please, this lovely gelding has so much to offer his next partner.
