🐶A Day in the life of a patient 🐶

Today started with an adventure! Mum brought me to the Waroona vet clinic. They popped me on the scales and took my weight, then they chatted with Mum about lots of big words I didn’t understand. Suddenly they said I had to say goodbye to Mum for a little while… that was a bit scary.

A lovely nurse scooped me up, gave me cuddles, and took my temperature. More nurses and a vet came to say hi. Everyone patted me and kept telling me how cute I am and how fabulous my hairdo is.
They listened to my heart with a cold thing called a stethoscope and gave me a gentle check from nose to tail.
Then I saw my bed — it had a warm heat pad and the fluffiest blankets (they must have noticed I don’t have much hair!).
I climbed up a nurse’s shoulders like a cat — that’s my move when I’m unsure — and they said I was very brave.
I got a tiny needle that felt like a mozzie bite, and then… zzz. I don’t usually do day naps, but I snoozed hard.
When I woke up, I had a giant magical blanket full of warm air — like a cozy balloon! The nurses were whispering so they wouldn’t wake me.
When I felt more awake and sat up I discover I was wearing a funny thing around my neck. They said it would stop me licking my stitches. Stitches? When did those get there?

We went outside for a little walk and, wow, I suddenly really needed a wee then mentioned something about I was on fluids and they can take my catheter out now I’ve done a wee no idea what all that meant.
Back inside, they tucked me in again and said they were calling Mum. When Mum arrived, my tail nearly flew off with excitement and I got to go home!
I don’t remember much, but everyone made a big fuss over me.

Thank you to the lovely team for keeping me warm, comfy, and oh-so-loved today. 10/10 I would accept pats again.

One of the absolute joys of working in veterinary medicine is the incredible relationships we build with our patients and their families. 💙

We were absolutely spoilt with the most beautiful (and delicious!) cupcakes, along with the sweetest and funniest note from one of our beloved patients. 🧁🐾

These thoughtful gestures truly brighten our day and remind us why we love what we do. Knowing that we've made a positive difference in the lives of our furry friends and their humans means the world to our team.

A huge thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for sharing a little extra sweetness with us today. We are so grateful to be part of such a caring and wonderful community 🐶
