CRATE TRAINING

At Burrinjuck Labradoodles, we believe crate training should begin slowly, gently, and with plenty of positive experiences.

From 6 weeks of age, our puppies can begin learning that a crate is a calm, cosy and safe place to rest—not a punishment or somewhere they are simply expected to stay for long periods.

Through short, age-appropriate sessions, we introduce the crate with the door open at first, allowing puppies to explore at their own pace. Soft bedding, treats, toys, chews and meals help create happy associations with their new little space.

As puppies grow more confident, we gradually introduce brief periods with the door closed and individual quiet time away from their littermates. These small steps help them learn that it is okay to settle independently, while always keeping their comfort and confidence at the centre of the process.

Crate-training foundations can help your puppy begin learning:

🤍 The crate is a safe place to rest
🤍 Calm behaviour is rewarding
🤍 Short periods alone are okay
🤍 Routines help them feel secure
🤍 Their people always come back

We never expect a tiny puppy to be fully crate trained or to hold their bladder overnight before they are developmentally ready. Crate comfort and toilet training are different skills, and both take time, patience and consistency.

When your puppy joins your family, they will still need your reassurance and continued support as they adjust to their new home. Our goal is to give them a positive introduction and a helpful foundation for you to continue building on. Every puppy is a little different. Some puppies respond to crate training with ease. Others resist the idea of being “trapped” with no freedom to come and go. Still others need gentle re-assurance and a softer transition to being separated from Mum and/or siblings.

Crate Training Foundations are available as an optional extra service for $50, beginning from 6 weeks of age.

At Burrinjuck Australian Labradoodles, responsible breeding means looking far beyond a beautiful face.

Every dog considered for our breeding program is carefully assessed for health, genetics, structure and temperament—because the wellbeing of our future generation puppies will always come first.

Our breeding dogs undergo comprehensive health testing, including a full DNA profile for genetic diseases and traits, hip and elbow scoring, and temperament assessment. Not every much-loved dog will be selected to breed, and we believe that is an essential part of maintaining a thoughtful, ethical breeding program.

We are committed to making careful decisions in relation to our breeding dogs and our chosen pairings. Behind the scenes, tears can be shed and high hopes can be dashed in a single email.

Because at Burrinjuck Labradoodles, ethical breeding is not about producing more puppies—it is about giving every puppy the strongest possible start to life and breeding the healthiest, most amazing Australian Labradoodles to be found. This is the Burrinjuck trademark.

GETTING TO KNOW YOU:🐾❤️

Burrinjuck Vienetta ~ Meadow
Petite Burrinjuck Vienetta was born on the 7th December, 2024 to Burrinjuck Tiramisu and Burrinjuck Haru.

From early days we knew Vienetta had that special “IT” factor. Vienetta has passed all relevant health testing with flying colours. Her babies are due in approximately 2 weeks time and we can’t wait.

Below is a blurb about Vienetta ~ Meadow, written by her Guardian Family.

“Meadow is the ultimate social butterfly. She loves people, she loves dogs, and she approaches everyone she meets with the enthusiasm of a friend she simply hasn’t met yet. She is happiest surrounded by her people, whether that means playing fetch and play-fighting with the kids, curling up beside someone for a cuddle, or quietly claiming the best spot on the couch.

One of Meadow’s most special qualities is her ability to adapt to the people around her. She matches the energy of the children when they want to play, but is just as happy becoming a gentle lap dog for someone who wants a quiet cuddle. Once the excitement of visitors or family coming home has settled, Meadow becomes the most wonderfully mellow and easy-going companion.

She is also full of character. Despite having a very comfortable memory-foam bed of her own, she sneaks onto our bed every night and considers climbing onto the opposite side to her own bed a perfectly reasonable invitation. When asked to get down, she simply turns into a floppy ragdoll in quiet protest. She also has a particular fondness for drinking bath water!

Above all, Meadow is our soul dog. She is affectionate, joyful, endlessly loving and simply wonderful to live with. We adore her more than words can say, and we are so excited to see her beautiful nature carried on in her puppies. We truly don’t think they get any better than Meadow. ❤️” Elizabeth

" Twelve weeks old today. Dara has been with us now for 4 weeks and has already made herself right at home. She is growing really fast and such a delight and although the toilet training is not a full success yet she is learning all our other house rules really quickly. She is becoming a great friend of Dixi's and they play really well together.
