We are a dog health and wellness hub located in Wangaratta. Our primary service is Dog Grooming. Hi, my name is Amy Ledger, I am the owner/operator of Wang Doggy Day Spa. I love where I live, the community and all the people and animals I've met over the years. I've enjoyed my last 16 years working as a Veterinary Nurse with the incredible team at Warby St Vet Hospital. And now, I cannot wait for

you to visit the Day Spa in Baker St and meet the incredible team of stylists and health professionals. With my Veterinary Nursing background, rest assured that your dog is in good hands. If we notice anything with your dog requiring further attention from your Vet, we'll let you know. Such as poor skin/coat/nail health, lumps or bumps, pain during the grooming procedure that could be related to joint health and arthritis, dental disease, foreign bodies in the skin ie grass seeds, smelly ears which could mean an infection, etc. We want your dog to live their best life, for as long as possible, as a valued member of your family. Our small team are passionate and experienced to help you maintain your dogs skin and coat health. We can help with advice for home care in between appointments. We stock a range of products and tools you can use at home on your dog. Please ensure dogs attending for grooming are healthy and well on the day of their appointment, and the previous 5 days prior. The health and safety of our staff and dogs attending the Day Spa is our priority. The dog day spa offers all grooming services; including nail trimming, warm hydrobath washing, clipping, styled grooms, double coat de-shedding (de-moulting), nice and tidy trims, ear cleans, medicated shampoo's, flea rinses and ear hair removal. We also have other health professionals visiting the facility for private consultations. Please see a list in-store, check this page, give us a call, or check on the website. Confidence Sessions for puppies and new dogs.

Our most booked service and the most important appt for young dogs and puppies, and new dogs.

Gentle exposure and practice of all the things required during grooming, whilst positively reinforcing the right behaviour.

We have a protocol that puppies and young dogs must follow before being expected to have the confidence and tolerance for their first full haircut. 3 x 30min confidence sessions (one can be a puppy experience), where we gently introduce your puppy to the grooming salon environment, keep things positive, reward calm and neutral behaviour, and help create a positive association with the staff and the environment.

We’ve found this to be the most effective way to ensure puppies and young dogs are confident and ready for their first haircut, ensuring they’re set up for a successful start to their grooming journey.

A lot of dogs new to grooming, such as older Border Collies that may never have had a professional groom in a salon environment, can also benefit greatly from a 30min confidence session.

Chiku received her first Full Groom after visiting for 3 x confidence sessions to build her confidence and tolerance of the grooming process and the environment.

Chiku did really well for her first full groom. She’s also been visiting for puppy school and is very confident in visiting Wang Doggy Day Spa.
