Vale Fred Cavallaro

We received the sad news this morning that long-time owner and supporter Fred Cavallaro has passed away.

Fred played a huge part in the early days of Weeding Racing. He was an astute form analyst with a great skill for selecting horses online. When I first started training, nearly every horse in the stable belonged to Fred. Without his support, I doubt I would have the owners and horses I do today.

After a chance phone call from Fred—who was the underbidder on a horse I bought online—we developed a great partnership alongside his brother-in-law, Charlie. We shared a lot of success together with very modestly priced horses. Some of our many winners included Prince of Helena, Big Day Out, Controversial Miss, Smart Poppy, You're So Natural, Allout Stropie, Flycatcher, Mentalia, Insurgence, Victory Chuckle, Claptone, and Melodee Rose.

Fred was very practical with his horses, he was always happy to give them the time to develop, but as soon as they showed signs that they weren't measuring up, he moved them on quickly. Even now, when assessing a horse's future potential, we often ask ourselves, "What would Fred do?" because, more often than not, he was right.

We send our deepest condolences to Josie, Charlie, Nat, and the rest of his family during this difficult time. Fred will always be remembered at Weeding Racing.

Thanks Fred!

🚨 HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS AT WODONGA! 🚨

And we're not talking about the weather! 🌪️😂

The aptly named HAZARDOUS made a statement on debut, powering to a convincing victory in the 1100m Maiden Plate with Justin Stanley in the saddle! 🏆

We've been itching to unleash our 3YO Redente filly, and she certainly didn't disappoint! 💪

A huge congratulations to Justin and everyone involved.

Busy, busy, busy 🏇🏇🏇We have the team spread out today as we take on meetings at Avoca, Wodonga and Deniliquin.Good luck ...
