Miss Gypsy Moon in her very first photo, moments after her rescue in May 2020, and again today! (Goodness those 6 years have aged me double that 🫠)
She was a very delightfully unusual looking lamb, long legs and she almost looked like she had been stretched, but she grew into the most beautiful girl...not that we aren't extreme appreciators of the unusual around here 🥳
Gypsy was almost 8kg at birth, for those that don't know, that's the weight of 2 healthy lambs combined, no wonder her poor Mama had complications. Many Ewes sadly run into trouble giving birth as a result of many people selectively breeding their flocks to achieve both multiple births and/or large lambs to maximise profits, with the sheep paying the real price
Gypsy sleeps like she is dead, literally...she gives us daily heart attacks because she is sprawled out in relaxed bliss, dreaming away with not a care in the world. We are so happy she feels content and safe but our nervous systems are a little more wired thanks to her 🤣
Sheep are so misunderstood and under appreciated. They are such clever creatures with rich and full lives and we are all the better for knowing them 💕
