Lovely TB ex broodmare who WALKED to her new house having her first look inside a float since her broodmare days 🥹

🦄 Took a bit of convincing to believe me that it wouldn’t be so bad but we got there on session 3 for her

I used a combination of halter pressure (asking to come forward a step) and positive reinforcement (clicker & pellets) to help shape her responses from stressed to positive and confident.

🔥 well yesterday turned in to quite the stressful day 🔥

A first training session for a new horse and owner turned into an urgent evacuation from the Anketell fire 🔥 🐎

Only to finish there and realise my own horse was in the red zone of the darling downs fire 🔥

Fortunately everyone loaded and is safe 😮‍💨

The little Arab that could 🥲
poor girl got a heck of a fright in the float during her first time in there, and had developed a BIG aversion as a result.
She would reef her head and shoot backwards and rear.
Little girl is so clever and trusting she is now loading softly and confidently, tolerating a lot of happenings behind her.
(Please excuse my outfit, this was a late evening session and I’d come from the gym!)
