🐍 SNAKE SEASON IS HERE! 🐍
With the warmer weather arriving, snakes are becoming more active, so now is the time to take a few extra precautions to help keep your pets safe.
Here are some ways you can reduce the risk of a snake encounter:
🌿 Keep grass short and clear away long grass and overgrown areas around your home.
🪵 Remove hiding spots such as piles of timber, sheets of tin, garden debris and clutter.
🐭 Keep rodents under control and avoid leaving pet food outside, as mice and rats can attract snakes.
🚪 Check your fencing and gates for gaps or spaces snakes may be able to enter through.
🐕 Keep dogs on a lead when walking through bushland, long grass or areas where snakes may be hiding.
👀 Keep an eye on pets outside, particularly around sheds, wood piles, rocks and garden beds.
💧 Be cautious around water sources where wildlife is active.
🚫 Never allow your pet to investigate a snake
If you see a snake, keep yourself and your pets well away.
Snake bites can be life-threatening, and signs aren't always obvious straight away.
