🐾 Five cats. Five different stories. Five chances for a new beginning. 💛
At the moment, we have five gorgeous rescue cats living with us at Lake Road Vet while they continue their recovery and rehabilitation.
They’re not quite your traditional “pick me up and cuddle me” adoption crew.
These guys are a little more independent. Some are still learning that people can be safe, that a gentle hand is a good thing, and that life doesn’t always have to be about survival.
MEET THE CREW 🐾

Approximately 2-year-old male
🐈⬛ Jet
Approximately 5-year-old male
🍀 Lucky Charm
Approximately 1-year-old male. Lucky Charm survived a nasty accident and ultimately lost one of his legs, so he is now navigating life on three.
🤎 Sarah
Approximately 8-month-old female
🩶 Emily
Approximately 6-month-old female
All five are genuine rehabilitation cases, recovering from illness, injury or difficult beginnings.
They are not particularly smoochy or cuddly at this stage, and we think that’s important to be honest about.
What they need most is time, patience, kindness and someone willing to meet them where they are.
With nurturing and a calm home, some may continue to grow in confidence and become lovely companion cats.
Others may ultimately be happier living a more independent lifestyle in a safe and secure environment, such as a shed, warehouse or property, with people who are happy to give them care, food, shelter and companionship without expecting them to become lap cats.
🏡 FOSTER CARERS ARE WELCOME TOO
You don’t necessarily have to be ready to adopt.
Fostering gives these cats the opportunity to experience life outside the hospital, helps us learn more about their personalities, and gives potential families the chance to see how they fit alongside other pets and family members.
It also gives them something very important in their rehabilitation: the opportunity to learn what “home” feels like.
💛 READY FOR THEIR NEXT CHAPTER
Every cat will go to their new home:
✅ Vaccinated
✅ Desexed
✅ Flea, tick and mite treated
✅ Wormed
And there is no set adoption price.
Their adoption fee is CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADOPTION FEE.
Whatever you choose to contribute becomes a donation to the Lake Road Vet Angel Fund, helping us continue to care for animals who need a little extra help when they come through our doors.
So in a lovely way, one rescue gets to help the next. 💛
All five are currently staying with us at Lake Road Veterinary Hospital, so meet-and-greets can be arranged.
They may move into foster care in the future as suitable homes become available.
