How beautiful is this weather 🥰
Taking the day to catch up on some book work and some revision before heading away next weekend to complete the next level in my fascial release learning

I’ve been a bit inconsistent with my work on social media and catching up with clients but I promise I’m not slacking off 😅
I’m working on some very exciting things behind the scenes that I believe will be extremely beneficial to all my clients and their horses… so stay tuned 😁

But in the mean time the days are getting warmer and longer which means more time for clients!

I would like to introduce everyone to Jack 👋
He is a Standardbred and everyone who knows me knows I have a soft spot for standies. He is the perfect example of how progress takes time, and not every change is instant or obvious.

Jack has contributed greatly to me learning and growing as a bodyworker. Each session he would either present with the same restrictions, or completely throw me a curve ball and have restrictions somewhere else. With my understanding of bodywork, I knew this was us slowly working towards the true reasoning behind his restrictions, but I couldn’t help but feel like we were taking two steps forward and one step back.
Along with his body restrictions, Jack was a really sensitive horse, so learning to read his individual behaviours was another big challenge. Sometimes there was minimal warning before he would kick or bite out of discomfort.

Each day I would go home and think, what can I do to help? What are the next steps?

But today was a different story.
Exactly one year since I first met Jack and his owner. One year of consistent bodywork, one year of a dedicated owner listening to every little change in his body, and four months of McDowells EquiFlex — it all finally clicked.
His body felt amazing. He stood still, falling asleep and relaxing into the session rather than being defensive because of discomfort. His owner reported that he has been easier to catch, and they are now able to consistently ride without major issues.

So, long story short, today was a really rewarding session for me, Jack and his owner.

Does this mean everything is fixed forever? No.

But it means we are on the right path for him.

Is every horse’s journey going to be the same? No.

But don’t be disheartened if it takes some time for progress to occur. Chat to your team of professionals, express your concerns and take a holistic approach to your horse’s recovery.

Every session is one step closer to your horse being a better version of themselves. 🐴❤️
