This week, we’re celebrating our incredible Vineyard Veterinary Hospital nursing team — and honestly, one week doesn’t feel like nearly enough! ❤️

To Elizabeth, Emily, Andrea, Kaitlin, Katrina, Amber, Emma, Olivia, Tatiarna and Lucia — thank you for everything you do, every single day.

Thank you for caring for our patients as if they were your own, for supporting our clients through some of their happiest and hardest moments, for supporting our vets, and most importantly, for supporting each other.

You each bring something completely different to our team — knowledge, experience, kindness, humour, dedication, compassion, patience and a willingness to jump in and get the job done.

And we know it isn't always easy. There are long days, difficult cases, emotional moments, crazy days, challenging patients and times when the workload feels overwhelming. But even on the tough days, you continue to show up, care, support one another and give your best. 🐾

From our long-standing nurses to those just beginning their journey, we are incredibly lucky to have each and every one of you as part of the Vineyard family.

A huge thank you to all our wonderful clients who took the time to think about their pets’ dental health this month. 💙🐾

We’ve loved seeing so many of you taking pet dental hygiene seriously — because healthy teeth and gums are such an important part of keeping our pets happy, comfortable and healthy. 🐶🐱🦷

And of course… we couldn’t let Dental Month pass without having a little fun in the waiting room! 😄

🚨 FOUND DOG – HAWKESBURY VALLEY WAY 🚨

A West Highland White Terrier (Westie) has been found on Hawkesbury Valley Way and is currently safe at Vineyard Veterinary Hospital. 🐾❤️

The dog is microchipped, however the microchip is not registered, so unfortunately we have been unable to contact the owner.

A huge congratulations to all of our gorgeous September graduates who have completed Puppy Preschool with Pawsonality! 🥳🐶

These little pups have been busy learning, socialising, building confidence and, of course, having plenty of fun along the way! ❤️

🐍 SNAKE SEASON IS HERE! 🐍

As the weather warms up, our slithery neighbours are becoming more active — and unfortunately, we’re already seeing the consequences.

We’ve already treated 3 snake bite cases recently, so this is your reminder to be extra vigilant with your pets as we head into snake season.

🚨 KNOW THE SIGNS OF SNAKE ENVENOMATION

Signs can vary, but may include:

🐾 Sudden weakness or collapse
🐾 Wobbliness or difficulty walking
🐾 Dilated pupils
🐾 Vomiting or drooling
🐾 Rapid or difficult breathing
🐾 Muscle tremors or twitching
🐾 Paralysis or inability to stand
🐾 Bleeding or unusual bruising
🐾 Sudden lethargy or unusual behaviour

⚠️ If you suspect your pet has been bitten by a snake, treat it as an EMERGENCY.

👉 Keep your pet as still and calm as possible.
👉 Carry them to the car if you can. Minimise movement.
👉 Call us and head straight to the clinic.
👉 Do NOT wait for symptoms to become severe.

🐍 And importantly — we DO NOT need the snake brought in for us to treat your pet.

Trying to catch, identify or kill the snake can put you — and your pet — at further risk. If you saw the snake and can safely remember what it looked like, that information can be useful, but your pet's safety comes first.

Snake envenomation can progress rapidly, and early veterinary treatment can be critical.

📞 If you think your pet may have been bitten, don't wait — contact Vineyard Veterinary Hospital immediately.

Stay safe, keep those noses out of the long grass, and let's all have a happy (and snake-free!) spring. 🐶🐱💚

🐾 Two tiny Malinois, two big futures! 🐾

These gorgeous Belgian Malinois pups came in to see us for their 2nd vaccinations today, and we’re pretty sure they already know they’re destined for important things! 🐕‍🦺💪

At the moment they’re all big ears, big paws and BIG personalities… but these little ones are growing up to be some seriously impressive working dogs. 👏

From puppy cuddles and vaccination day to future working-dog superstars — we’re so excited to watch them grow, learn and become the incredible dogs they’re destined to be. ❤️

For now though… we’ll happily enjoy the puppy stage! 🥰🐾
