Having an unexpected litter can be expensive and time consuming for pet owners - adding to household financial pressures.

“There are many unwanted and embarrassing pet behaviours that desexing can help improve, as well as added preventative health benefits to your pet,” says RSPCA Queensland Vet Dr Sam Strong.

"When we see cases of the life threatening disease pyometra in female dogs and cats coming through our shelters, it's sad to know this medical emergency and added pet expense for owners can be avoided altogether simply when female dogs are desexed."

Ninderry Veterinary Surgery and Hinterland Equine Veterinary Services - a mixed animal practice located in Yandina (Sunshine Coast, Qld) - is hiring!
We invite applications for a 2 day a week Veterinary Nurse position (Thur and Fri and a 1 in 3 Saturday Roster).
Although we are a mixed practice, the majority of patients that nurses care for are small animals.
Our clinic is fresh and well fitted out with Casco pet recovery cages, digital Xray, anaesthetic monitoring equipment, surgical theatre, and much more.
The ideal candidate will exhibit:
✅an excellent ability to work as a team member in a dynamic environment

✅professionalism (including punctuality and ownership of the role and its responsibilities)
✅attention to detail
✅strong organisational skills
✅enthusiastic customer service
✅a willingness to learn
Responsibilities include:
◾️General nursing tasks, patient care and xrays
◾️Surgical nursing tasks (e.g., IV catheter placement, blood collections, setting up theatre, monitoring anaesthetics and patients post-surgery, cleaning the surgical theatre and equipment)
◾️Reception tasks (receiving clients and patients, discharging patients, taking payments, making appointments, communicating via telephone and email).
We use Ezyvet as our practice management system, so experience with Ezyvet is advantageous but not essential.
📜Qualifications:
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (OR equivalent experience)
💲Remuneration:
Commensurate with qualifications, experience and above award
