Hi Everyone.
Well…..the week that was.
I just wanted to give you all an update and bit more transparency as to what occurred this week so you can understand where I’m at.
It’s not meant to alarm, though it think it’s something to give context into the situation.
Last Tuesday morning I suffered a major Heart Attack (Acute STEMI is the medical term)
I was extremely fortunate to have received prompt and incredibly efficient care from the Queensland Ambulance Service who quickly established what was going on and took me to the Gold Coast University Hospital where I was immediately taken into theatre and an angioplasty performed by a team I can only describe as incredible. I had 3 stents inserted to restore the flow of blood to my heart and in effect keep me alive.
The speed in which everything was done has amazingly only seen relatively nominal damage to my heart. This can be assisted with medication and rehab which I’ll obviously be right into.
Since the day after, I’ve felt fine, in fact I’m amazed at how good I feel though I’m also fully aware that my heart is damaged and needs to repair.
I’ve been home since Friday.
Doctors orders at this stage are absolutely nothing for the next 2 weeks. Complete rest. I can’t even drive.
After that they will assess for a return to light work and if that gets the green light it will only be for small dogs as they insist I’m not allowed to lift heavy things (read big woofas 😊)
Obviously, I’m very aware of each of your pups needs and my need to look after them, but I have to play it safe and can’t afford to jump the gun as I do feel I’ve used up all the luck in my luck bucket for now.
I’ll work through my Calendar and move you where I can , or in a lots of cases I’ll need to let the booking go until next time.
I hope you understand and I look forward to seeing you all again as soon as I can.
Thank you
Rob
