Recently, the marketing team at Neutrog visited the Adelaide Botanic Garden, where we came across a beautiful little field of Rhodanthe chlorocephala. These flowers are more commonly known as ‘paper daisies’ blooming at the northern end of the International Rose Garden.
Planted earlier this year in May by the dedicated horticulture team and their brilliant volunteers, these vibrant flowers are now putting on a beautiful display.
Paper daisies are widely grown for their attractive flowers and foliage, as well as their hardy, adaptable nature and ability to provide fast, effective ground cover. But their value goes well beyond their beauty.
These flowers also help support native pollinators, with bees, beetles and small flies visiting the flowers for nectar and pollen. Despite its delicate appearance, it is a valuable contributor to the ecological web of Australian heathlands and shrublands – a remarkable impact from such a small and fleeting flower.
Make sure to visit the Adelaide Botanic Garden and catch these stunning blooms while they’re looking fabulous this spring!
