A plea to our community: please surrender responsibly.
Recently, two cats were left outside the doors of our veterinary clinic, unattended.
This is not a safe or acceptable way to surrender an animal.
Leaving cats outside a clinic, even with the intention of leaving them somewhere you believe they will be safe, puts their lives at risk.
If you can no longer care for an animal, please surrender them through the proper channels. Contact your local animal rescue, shelter or veterinary clinic to discuss your options before bringing an animal in. This allows appropriate arrangements to be made and ensures their safety, welfare and ongoing care are considered.
We also ask our community to understand the pressure this places on our team. We are already at capacity caring for rescue cats who need our time, resources and compassion. Every additional animal requires space, supplies, veterinary attention and dedicated staff time. We will always do our best to help animals in need, but we have limited resources and cannot take in an unlimited number of animals.
Our team works hard every day to give vulnerable animals the care they deserve. Finding two cats abandoned at our doorstep is upsetting, stressful and places an additional burden on a team that is already stretched.
Animals depend on us to make responsible decisions for them, even when circumstances are difficult. If you are struggling to care for a pet, please reach out for help rather than leaving them unattended. There may be options available, and asking for assistance is always better than putting an animal at risk.
