🐴 BAIRNSDALE & SURROUNDS — LIMITED IN-PERSON LESSONS

Kistler Equestrian is travelling from Hazelwood North to the Bairnsdale area for limited one-off sessions on Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 October.

🐴 EXPRESSION OF INTEREST — CLICKER TRAINING CLINIC

Have you ever wished your horse could actually understand what you’re asking?

Or maybe you’ve tried clicker training but found yourself thinking:

“Am I doing this right?”
“What do I reward?”
“Why is my horse getting pushy?”
“How do I turn this into useful training rather than just tricks?”

I’m looking at running a small Clicker Training Clinic with Kistler Equestrian for horse owners who want to learn how to use positive reinforcement thoughtfully, clearly and safely.

This clinic will focus on communication, timing, boundaries and understanding your horse, rather than simply teaching tricks.

We’ll explore:
• How clicker training actually works
• Marker timing and delivering rewards effectively
• Creating calm, clear communication
• Preventing mugging, frustration and treat-seeking behaviour
• Building motivation without losing boundaries
• Using positive reinforcement for groundwork and everyday training
• Reading your horse’s responses and adjusting your approach
• Turning small exercises into meaningful training
• How clicker training can help horses become more confident, engaged and willing learners

Perfect for:

This is not about forcing your horse to perform.

It’s about learning how to communicate in a way your horse can actually understand.

What to bring:
* (Horse and yourself) halter and lead
* Dressage whip (optional)
* Your horses food or treat preference
* A waist bag (if you have one)
* A clicker (if you have one)
For items you don’t have, they will be provided in the session.

Half day clinic schedule
One on one assessment session: release horse into area, observe behaviour, reward engagement, set boundaries as needed. Introduction to treats and clicker.
(If there is time) we will have a full group with horses on halter/leads, directed by clinician exercises, learning new expectations, clicker and treat timing, self practise.

Just a btw and an fyi… yes I do use AI , yes I know it is noticeable I’m not trying to hide the fact, no I don’t care either because it’s just a tool I use like a computer. I still give it prompts in MASSIVE detail to get it correct because I am better with my written text than I am at designing and creating images my brain is analytical not creative so I do need something to help me build creatively for me. Yes I could use a human to design but it costs money and time that I don’t want to waste a humans time or effort and potentially months of my time (and theirs) to design something. I get it you’ve got ethics and ai is slop and it’s going to take over the world and take all human jobs, if that’s what you believe then go pick your people because that isn’t me, I believe if you lack the skills directly then use a tool to substitute the skill deficit. I use what resources I have available to me.
