✨Help Optimus find his Home✨

Optimus is a sweet sensitive boy that is looking for his forever home. He is very friendly, even with strangers and is a very pleasant dog to live with (doesn’t bark often or dig). He is quite friendly with other big dogs and enjoys a play.

He walks well on the leash, is food motivated and very responsive to training.

Optimus would be more suited to a family with older children due to his size.

I have not tested him around cats but apparently he lived with a cat previously and there were nil issues.

I am happy to offer free training if needed to whoever Optimus ends up with as he deserves only the best.

Meet Optimus 🐾

Hi, I’m Optimus.

I know I probably look like every other Staffy cross searching for a forever home… but before you scroll past, remember the saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” That’s me!

I’m a well-mannered girl with so much to offer. I’m toilet trained, love hopping in the car for adventures, enjoy long walks where I can stop and sniff all the interesting smells, and I’m just as happy spending a lazy day curled up on the couch watching TV with my people.

I love meeting new people and have a calm, patient nature. If you stop to chat with someone on a walk, I’m happy to wait by your side. I walk well on the lead, know my basic training, and will happily sit on command. One of my favourite things? Sitting on your feet while you relax—I just like being close to my humans.

I think the world is a pretty amazing place! Whether it’s exploring the beach, playing with toys, soaking up the sunshine, wandering around the garden, or finding the perfect cosy spot for a nap, I’m always ready to enjoy life with my family.

I would do best as the only dog in the home so I can have all your love and attention. The good news is, I’m cat friendly, making me a great companion for the right household.

If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who will be by your side through every adventure—and every movie night—I might just be the perfect match.

🐾Edie - My Tricky Dog🐾

My dog Edie was the face behind this business and the reason it exists. She’s the dog in my logo and the reason I have been able to connect and help so many people with their dogs. She attended many of my training sessions and helped countless dogs, particularly with reactivity. A calm and stable leader who set and maintained boundaries with countless dogs, even dogs that normally couldn’t be around others. She was the smartest dog I have ever encountered, mastering over 200 tricks and every discipline of dog sport imaginable. Her cattle dog and pointer mix meant she has a lethal combination of both brain and brawn. This combined with her aptitude for mischief inspired the name ‘Tricky Edie’ and subsequently ‘Tricky Dog Training’.

When Edie came to me at 9 months old from a pound in Wagga she had just about every behavioural issues there was. The process of training her, and the many stressors and mistakes I made during that time was the reason behind why I got my qualification and started my business. She taught me more than any dog ever has and is the reason why I understand on a personal level the importance of training your dog.

She leaves behind a legacy that I will carry on through this business. Until we meet again Edie, thank you for everything you did for me and for the countless lives you touched.

✅❌Who can complete my dog training bucket list!?❌✅
I have been training dogs for over ten years and by now I have trained most breeds at some point however a few are missing from my bucket list! Its always one if my favourite things when I get to know a new breed and the specific needs unique to that breed.

🖤Handsome Max🖤
We apply all the same training principles to any breed regardless of if they are 6kg or 60kg! However with a dog like gorgeous Max safety becomes an important factor, particularly with giant breeds that don’t know their own size. Consistent reinforcement of behaviour was want to see and not allowing bad behaviour to be rehearsed are crucial principles, as with giant breeds practicing bad behaviour can mean someone gets hurt. Working with Max and his Mum for his initial consult yesterday was one of the most rewarding initial consults I’ve had and looking forward to seeing the progress these two make.

🐶Puppy Prevention🐶
One of the most important parts of raising a puppy is preventing bad behaviours before they start. Most people think that training your puppy is just exposing your dog to as many new dogs friends as possible however the truth is very far from that. At this age most puppies need to be set up with good rules and routines in their life to prevent future issues particulary around boredom and lack of clarity with rules. Our puppies are learning the world around them so this is the time to be consistent and patient! Well done to sweet little Calli and her family for getting started with training so early!
