FOUND: Today in North Toowoomba.

Unfortunately this is not Banook and I have been unable to match him up with any of the missing bird posts.

He talks, is handraised and has a leg band that the owner will need to confirm the details of.

He is currently safe at home with me.

🚨 COCKATIEL SIGHTING - RANGEVILLE 🚨

This afternoon a cockatiel was seen around Butler and Angus Street, near High St Plaza in Rangeville.

An amazing member of the community has been out playing cockatiel sounds, offering treats and trying to catch it but it hasn't let anyone near it.

I have also gone for a drive to locate it, but was unable to get close.

This is the only photo we have at the moment, we would appreciate everyone keeping an eye out, it was potentially attacked my magpies so may be injured.

Meet Indi ❤️

Indi is Shaz’s beautiful Galah, who came in to see us after her leg ring started causing a few issues and making her uncomfortable.

Shaz first connected with Lennon from Toowoomba Birds while they were helping search for her friend’s lost bird, so when Indi needed a bit of practical bird help, Lennon pointed her in our direction.

Our team was able to remove Indi’s leg ring quickly, and she was much more comfortable afterwards - which is exactly what we like to see.

Shaz was so grateful that she made a generous purchase of bird supplies to donate to Toowoomba Birds, helping support birds in care while also supporting our local, family-owned business.

A very sweet full-circle moment from one local bird person to another 🐦

🚨 UPDATED SIGHTING - PLEASE SHARE 🚨

Missing pineapple green cheek conure Darlah was sighted at approximately 5:00 PM today, Saturday 25 July, around Gorman Street in Darling Heights before flying off in the direction of Kmart.

Please, everyone in Gorman Street and the surrounding Darling Heights area, keep a close watch and listen for her - particularly early tomorrow morning, when the area is quieter. Check tall trees, rooftops, fences, yards and around your home.

Darlah is fully flighted, friendly and responds to her name, but she may be frightened and could remain quiet or high in a tree.

If you see her:

🔸 Keep watching her and note her exact location
🔸 Call or text immediately: 0437 586 870

Even a brief sighting could help bring Darlah home. Please share this update widely, especially with anyone living in or travelling through Darling Heights.

🚨 MISSING BIRD - CENTENARY HEIGHTS - LAST SEEN @ 4PM TODAY 🚨

Darlah, an 11-month-old pineapple green cheek conure, escaped from Cleary Street, Centenary Heights at approximately 4:00 PM today, Friday 24 July.

She is fully flighted, friendly and responds to her name, but she has never been outside before and may be frightened or sitting quietly nearby.

Please check trees, rooftops, fences, yards, sheds and garages around the area. Do not chase her if spotted - please keep her in sight and call or text immediately.

Please share, especially with anyone in Centenary Heights and surrounding suburbs. Getting this out quickly gives Darlah the best chance of being found close to home.

🚨 If you found a cockatiel on Saturday morning and were seen travelling in a 2025 Subaru Forester Wagon in Autumn Green Metallic, please come forward!

We have multiple devastated families currently searching for missing pet cockatiels, and several people are now deeply worried this bird may belong to them. Some of these families include children who have already been through significant trauma, making this an incredibly delicate situation.

We do have the vehicle’s registration number, and descriptions of the two women seen in the car. We will not be sharing those publicly at this stage, however the registration does include a smiley face emoji.

If this was you, or if you know who these women are, please do the right thing and come forward.

If you would prefer, you can message Toowoomba Birds or Lennon Starr directly. This will be handled discreetly and without judgement - the priority is simply making sure this bird has the chance to get home if it belongs to one of the families searching.

🚨 DID YOU FIND A HAND-RAISED COCKATIEL?

A concerned community member has made us aware that someone in Toowoomba found a hand-raised cockatiel today 11/7 and is making plans to keep the bird. The finder's vehicle description and registration number have been recorded, but I'm hoping this doesn't need to go any further.

A friendly cockatiel is very likely to be someone’s deeply loved pet. Somewhere nearby, there may be a devastated owner or family desperately searching for them.

If this was you, please make a genuine effort to locate the bird’s owner before deciding to keep or rehome them. You are welcome to contact Toowoomba Birds privately, and we can help compare the bird with current lost-bird reports while keeping identifying details confidential.

If a friend, family member or neighbour has recently found or unexpectedly acquired a cockatiel, please encourage them to come forward and check local lost-pet groups, vets and pet businesses. Anyone claiming ownership should be asked to provide identifying details or photographs.

Please give this little bird every possible chance of getting back home.
