Meet Frankie! 🐾

This tiny little Italian Greyhound came in for his vaccination and was quite possibly the cutest little patient we’ve had in our hands! 🥹

Frankie was so teeny, he practically fit in the palm of our hands. 🥰

Safe to say, we were all a little bit obsessed! 💚

Bird flu is making headlines, so Better Homes & Gardens asked Greencross Vets what it means for our pets.

Greencross Vets veterinarian Dr Nina shares practical advice to help pet parents understand the risks and take simple precautions.

“Bird flu can infect all mammals, so dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets can all be infected.”

From avoiding contact with sick or dead wildlife to keeping cats indoors and dogs on a leash around wildlife, a few simple steps can help reduce exposure.

Ziggy came in for his castrate last week! 🐶💙 He was just too cute to resist, so naturally, he spent most of the day getting cuddles from the team! 🥰

🖤 A majestic visitor who never should have needed a trip to the vet.

This beautiful black swan was found with a fishing hook stuck in its mouth - a painful and completely preventable injury caused by discarded fishing gear.

Removing the hook required a general anaesthetic, along with pain relief to keep this feathered patient comfortable while we treated them. 🦢

A reminder to all anglers: please take your fishing line, hooks and tackle home with you or use a designated disposal bin. The Victorian Fisheries Authority advises that old fishing line should be placed in bins, or if there are no bins available, taken home, cut up and disposed of in general waste. Their Seal the Loop program also provides dedicated bins for unwanted fishing line, hooks, netting and rope. (VFA)

Discarded fishing gear can cause entanglement, injury and even death to wildlife. A few extra seconds to dispose of your gear properly can make a huge difference. 💔

🐾✨ Stella’s surgery success! ✨🐾

Sweet 11-year-old Stella recently underwent an emergency cystotomy with us to remove bladder stones. 🩺💗

After her procedure and a little time to recover, Stella is now doing amazingly well so far and almost back to being her happy self! 🥰🐶

We’re so pleased to see this beautiful girl feeling comfortable and healthy again. 💕

🎨 We're temporarily closed for a fresh new look! 💚

Greencross Vets Eastwood House is closed from 1pm Friday 24 July to 1pm Monday 17 August while we complete exciting renovations to refresh and improve our clinic.

The temporary closure allows us to carry out the work safely for our patients, clients and team.

🐾 If your pet needs care during this time, we'll happily arrange your appointment at our nearby Greencross Vets Wilsonton clinic, where our team will continue to provide the same trusted care you know and love.

Welcome Bee to our team!! 💚

With 9 years of experience in the veterinary industry, Bee is a dedicated veterinary nurse holding a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Having begun studying vet nursing while still at school, her passion for animal care started early and has continued to grow throughout her career.
She has a strong interest in anaesthesia, dentistry, and animal behaviour, and enjoys combining technical nursing skills with compassionate patient care to help animals feel as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

Outside of the clinic, Bee enjoys spending time on the property where she lives, working casually around the farm, riding horses, singing, and gardening. Her love for animals and rural life extends well beyond her professional role, bringing both experience and genuine passion to her work every day.
