This gorgeous chocolate Labrador puppy ‘Lily’ visited us last week for her 16-week vaccinations. 💉🤎

At 16 weeks of age, puppies like Lily are reaching an important milestone in their vaccination journey. Puppies are born with some immunity from their mother, but this protection fades as they grow. Vaccinations help safeguard them against serious and potentially life-threatening diseases such as parvovirus, distemper, hepatitis, and kennel cough. Vaccinations are a vital part of preventative healthcare, helping to protect not only your own puppy but also other dogs in our community.

Meet Katie 🤍 a sweet little Bichon Frise who’s as friendly as they come!

Katie is a social butterfly who loves meeting new friends, going for her daily walks, and—most of all—treats (especially liver treats! 😋).

If you’re in the area, feel free to pop in and say hello! Our nurses are always happy to give your pup a liver treat and do a quick patient weight check while you’re here. It’s a simple way to keep an eye on their health between visits.

By creating those short and positive experiences with treats, gentle handling, and friendly check-ins, we help pets feel more relaxed and confident every time they come in. Over time, this can make future visits much less stressful and more enjoyable for both pets and their people. 🌟

🐾 Meet Ruby, a sweet 4-year-old Yorkshire Terrier who visited the clinic for an ear check! 🐾

Yorkies, with their adorable floppy ears and fine hair, can be especially prone to ear issues like infections, wax buildup, and irritation.

Catching the signs early makes a big difference in keeping ears healthy and avoiding more serious infections. Regular ear checks can go a long way in keeping your furry family members comfortable and happy. Lucky for Ruby, her mum noticed a change in her behaviour early before any infection had started!

⭐️Meet Dr Ross — our resident surgery superstar! ⭐️

If you’ve ever wondered who’s behind some of the amazing surgical procedures at our clinic, let us introduce you to Dr Ross McGregor.

Ross graduated as a veterinarian in 1989, and after years in general practice he took his passion for surgery to the next level and joined the University of Sydney as a Surgical Registrar. Fast-forward to June 2023 and he smashed his Surgery Specialist exams. 🎉

In 2024, he even stepped up as an examiner for the Fellowship exams, helping shape the next generation of surgical specialists.🐶

Ross is especially passionate about helping dogs with cruciate ligament disease. He’s even recently published research on Tibial Plateau Levelling Osteotomy (TPLO)! 🐾

Having Ross’ experience, skill, and passion around the clinic means our surgical patients get the very best care when it matters most. His dedication to staying at the forefront of veterinary medicine — and his willingness to share that knowledge with our team — elevates the level of care we can provide! ✨

In honour of ANZAC Day tomorrow, our clinic will be closed as we take time to reflect and pay our respects to the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for our country.
