Sometimes weekends just don’t go to plan… Albury was one of them.
To start off the week leading up to the competition my car had a break down, so a quick re plan of vehicle saw me driving brads cruiser! Quite the vehicle to work out how to drive! But anyway dj and I arrived at Albury Friday afternoon.
This weekend we had another crack at a 3 star. All the hard work on our dressage is starting to pay off. Seeing us finally getting a qualifying score and a happy relaxed test.
Sunday morning showjumping is still a working progress but starting to see some improvement, thank you Chris height for your help in this department. Thank you Fiona hughes for taking the time to help me warm up.
X country is where it all fell apart a bit for us. A challenging bounce on a mound at 12ab just brought out my and dj’s inexperience at this level. Dj jumped in big and didn’t know how to bounce out, he went right and I went straight. Horse and rider are fine. Thank you Billy for catching dj until I got back.
In a true fashion of having a bad weekend on the way home I also blew a tire on the float! Lucky it wasn’t too far from home and Brad was able to save the day! Finally home around 10:30 and glad to get back into my own bed.
Many thanks for the weekend. Firstly to Laura and Josh from Aitkens racing stable for letting us break up the drive and stop over, thank you Asha for the company, advice and as always moral support! Thank you mum for having miss Heidi for the weekend. I think you guys had more fun than me.
Thanks Tazzie for the photos.
Back to the drawing board but onwards and upwards.
