Parvo is active in our community! 🦠
It is a contagious virus that once it is in the ground at your property it can stay active for 10 years.

$3000 for treatment or $120 for a vaccination
The vaccination is more affordable and a lot more pleasant for your dog 🐶

PLEASE BE AWARE!!

Our area is experiencing a serious Parvo virus outbreak. Please ensure all dogs are up to date with their vaccinations.
This virus is spread through the community on peoples shoes and tyres on vehicles as well as by infected dogs. If contracted this is a complex condition to treat with a poor survival rate.

Foaling season is here! 🐎

This is a rewarding and joyous experience for most mare owners but can also be a stressful, high risk time as well.

Normal foaling happens very fast!
🕰️ Stage 1 Lasts approx. 1-4 hours (restlessness, sweating, pawing)
🕰️ Stage 2 Lasts approx. 15-30 minutes (foal delivery)
🕰️ Stage 3 Within 3 hours (placenta delivery)

If Stage 2 takes longer than 30 minutes you are in an emergency situation and need to call the vet

The 3 foaling emergencies to be aware of are -
🚑 Red Bag Delivery - If you see a red membrane inside a normal white/blue water bag. This is a critical emergency and the foal must be delivered immediately
🚑 Dystocia - The foal is stuck. Normal delivery means you should see two feet and a nose. If this is not what you see then call the vet before trying to assist with delivery
🚑 Retained Placenta - If the placenta hasn't passed in 3 hours immediately call your vet
