🐾 Happy Vet Nurse Day! 💙

Today we’re celebrating the incredible team of veterinary nurses who keep our hospital running, our patients cared for, and our vets on their toes! 😂

Our nurses do so much more than meets the eye, from holding tiny kittens and comforting nervous patients, to monitoring anaesthetics, assisting in surgery, caring for hospitalised patients, answering endless questions, cleaning up everything imaginable and supporting our clients through some of their hardest moments.

They bring skill, compassion, dedication and plenty of love to every patient that comes through our doors. 🐶🐱🐰🩺❤️

We are incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful team of nurses at Manning Veterinary Hospital.

Thank you for everything you do Tanya, Amber, Brenda, Gabbie, Mia, Quinn, Lisa, Amie, Bec, Jules & Sienna — you truly are the heart of our hospital! 💙🐾

🦅 Bird Flu (Avian Influenza) Awareness – NSW

There is currently an increased risk of avian influenza (bird flu) in NSW. We encourage everyone to stay vigilant around wild birds.
If you find a sick, injured or deceased wild bird:
🚫 Do not touch or handle it.
📸 Take a photo (if safe to do so) and note the location.
📞 Report it to the Emergency Animal Disease Watch Hotline on 1800 675 888.

Please do not bring sick or deceased wild birds to our hospital. If a bird requires assistance, please contact our local wildlife rescue organisation for advice and support.

You can also help reduce the risk by:
• Not feeding wild birds.
• Keeping pets away from sick or dead birds.
• Washing your hands if you have been in areas frequented by wild birds.

Bird flu primarily affects wild birds and poultry but can also infect some mammals. The risk to the general public remains low, but reporting suspected cases is important to help protect Australia's wildlife and poultry industries.
