After taking some time to reflect on everything that has happened over the past 24 hours, I wanted to address the situation directly.
It has been upsetting to be accused of copying another business when Puptails was created with the simple goal of bringing smiles to people’s faces and joy to their dogs.
For clarity, Puptails was independently developed in Australia with its own branding, products and formulations. I spent many months developing and refining the range to create drinks that were both fun and functional for dogs.
I also want to clarify that our decision to remove Cosmopawlitan, Pawjito and Pawsecco from our range was unrelated to the Hong Kong-based brand. Those names were removed after we became aware they were subject to existing trademark registrations in Australia, and we acted promptly to remove them.
Claims that Puptails copied another business are simply untrue.
We respect intellectual property rights and remain focused on creating innovative Australian-made products for dogs.
I believe the pet industry is big enough for many great businesses to succeed, and my focus will always be on building a positive brand that brings joy to dogs and their humans.
