Our official support crew reporting for duty at the Sydney Marathon 2026 💛🐾
From front row seats in Centennial Park cheering “PROUD OF YOU!” to joining the YMCA dance break with the whole crowd.
The best part? A car-free Centennial Park. A dream for sensitive noses and paws - safe to sniff, wander and just be a dog. 🌳
All that cheering is exhausting though. Even the support crew needs proper recovery.
Straight home to his CPP PAWS Infrared bed for some well-earned rest and repair. Because recovery isn’t just for the marathoners. ✨

센테니얼 파크 최전방에서 “자랑스러워요!”를 외치고, 모든 관중과 함께 YMCA 댄스까지 함께했어요.
가장 좋았던 건 차 없는 센테니얼 파크. 예민한 코와 발을 가진 아이들에게는 꿈같은 하루였어요. 마음껏 킁대고 산책하고 그냥 강아지로 있을 수 있어서요. 🌳
하지만 응원도 체력이 필요하죠. 응원단도 제대로 된 회복이 필요해요.
집에 돌아와서는 바로 CPP PAWS 적외선 베드에서 휴식과 회복 타임. 회복은 마라토너들만의 것이 아니니까요. ✨

Core Strengthening in Dogs 🐾 - Two Exercises, One Key Principle

Slide 1: Decline Plank - Hindlimbs Elevated on Small Barrel
This is a whole-body, isometric core exercise. By elevating the hindlimbs, we shift more weight forward onto the forelimbs.
Target: Deep core musculature + shoulder stabilisers / forelimb strength
Key Cue: Maintain a neutral spine - a straight line from neck to tail base. No sagging or roaching.
Purpose: Builds trunk stability and forelimb strength simultaneously.

Slide 2: Forelimb Balance on Unstable Surface (Wobble Cushion)
An unstable surface under the front paws.
Target: Core proprioception, balance, and co-contraction of trunk & limb muscles via constant micro-adjustments.
Key Cue: Paws may wobble, but the spine stays still and neutral.
Purpose: Improves dynamic control and body awareness.

Key Takeaway: The yellow line = neutral spine. If alignment is lost, stop and regress the exercise.

Prescribed individually after assessment. Always under guidance of a qualified animal physiotherapist.

Slide 1: 디클라인 플랭크 - 스몰 배럴 위 뒷다리 올리기
전신 등척성 코어 운동입니다. 뒷다리를 높이면 체중이 앞다리로 더 많이 실립니다.
타겟: 심부 코어 근육 + 어깨 안정화 근육 / 앞다리 근력
핵심 큐: 목부터 꼬리까지 일직선인 중립 척추 유지. 허리가 처지거나 굽으면 안됩니다.
목적: 몸통 안정성과 앞다리 근력을 동시에 강화

Slide 2: 불안정한 표면 위 앞다리 밸런스 (밸런스 쿠션)
앞발 아래 불안정한 쿠션을 사용한 운동입니다.
타겟: 미세한 자세 조절을 통한 코어 고유수용성 감각, 균형감각, 몸통과 다리 근육의 동시 수축
핵심 큐: 발은 흔들려도 척추는 중립을 유지하며 안정적으로 유지
목적: 동적 조절 능력과 신체 인식 능력 향상

핵심 정리: 노란 선 = 중립 척추. 정렬이 무너지면 운동을 중단하고 난이도를 낮춰야 합니다.

개별 평가 후 처방되는 운동입니다. 반드시 전문 동물 물리치료사의 지도 하에 진행하세요.

Practice makes perfect ✨
Sebbie on the balance cushion for core strength.
First 3 seconds is Sebbie today - 2 reps, straight on, no hesitation. Last 6 seconds is how we started.
The wobble board isn’t just for balance. For Sebbie we’re working on:
- core activation + spinal stability
- proprioception [knowing where his feet are]
- confidence on unstable surfaces
Progress like this doesn’t happen in one session. It takes short, positive reps and a lot of trust.
So proud of this boy.
Does your dog hesitate on new surfaces or equipment? Start slow, reward the tries.

What they don’t tell you about having a dog
Everyone posts the puppy pics. The zoomies. The first birthday cake.
No one posts about this part.
Sebastian turns 9 in a few weeks. Lately I’ve been finding more gray around his muzzle. On his eyelashes. The places that used to be chestnut are going salt-and-pepper.
He still looks at me with the same eyes. Still has those shiny puppy eyes. But time is stealing him in tiny pieces and it guts me.
The sad reality of dogs is that we watch them grow old in fast forward. We get their whole lifetime, and they only get part of ours.
If your dog is young, take the picture. If your dog is old, take the picture. The gray hairs mean they stayed.

강아지를 키우면서 아무도 말해주지 않는 것
다들 강아지 시절 사진만 올리잖아요. 우다다 뛰어다니는 모습, 첫 생일 케이크.
아무도 이 부분은 올리지 않죠.
세바스찬이 몇 주 뒤면 9살이 돼요. 요즘따라 주둥이 주변에 흰 털이 늘었어요. 속눈썹에도요. 밤색이던 부분이 소금 후추처럼 세고 있어요.
그래도 여전히 같은 눈으로 나를 봐줘요. 여전히 반짝이는 강아지 눈빛이에요. 하지만 시간이 조금씩 그를 데려가는 것 같아서 마음이 무너져요.
강아지를 키우는 슬픈 현실은, 우리가 그들이 늙어가는 걸 빨리감기로 지켜봐야 한다는 거예요. 우리는 그들의 일생 전부를 함께하지만, 그들은 우리 인생의 일부만 함께하죠.
당신의 강아지가 어리다면, 사진을 찍으세요. 나이가 들었다면, 사진을 찍으세요. 흰 털은 그들이 곁에 머물러줬다는 뜻이니까요.

Sebbie woke up one morning with facial nerve palsy and couldn’t blink on one side.
> As a human eye doctor, my first worry was his cornea, so eye protection came first for every at-home session. This is him under the CPP Paws Infrared OptiShield during recovery.

이 아이는 세바스찬, CPP Paws infrared optishield™와 함께입니다. 어떤 크레이트든 붉은빛 안식처로 바꿔줘서 매일 낮잠을 잡니다. 병원 갈 필요도 없고, 추가 장비도 없습니다.
20년 임상 경험으로 직접 설계했고, 호주 대학교 의과대학에서 안전성 테스트를 마쳤습니다. 시드니 스튜디오 체험은 2026년 중반 오픈 예정입니다.

길에서 안아 들어 올렸는데, 얼굴이 점점 더 처져내렸습니다.

A couple of months ago, Sebbie’s legs gave way and he just collapsed.
I picked him up off the road, and his face kept drooping more.

This is only the teaser.

The full video has everything: the moment we got the diagnosis, what the vet said it likely was, what we did to help him eat and drink, and how he recovered from facial nerve paralysis.

This is the first time I’m sharing this.
