Meet Scooby the cavoodle 🐾 He came in recently for his desexing procedure and handled it like an absolute champ. New bandanna, well-earned 💙

Quick reminder for pet parents with a recently desexed pup: keep that cone on, keep activity low, and watch the incision site for the first week or so. Little stars like Scooby heal best with a bit of rest!

This gorgeous Persian kitten litter came in for their first round of vaccinations 🐾 Starting vaccines early helps protect kittens while their immune systems are still developing - and yes, we definitely soaked up all the cuddles along the way 🥰

Fresh teeth, full heart 🦷💙 Soda handled her dental procedure like a champ, and Nurse Issie made sure she woke up to all the snuggles. This is what post-op care looks like at our clinic.

😁Fun fact: dental disease is one of the most common (and most preventable!) issues we see in dogs and cats. If your pet's breath could use some love, ask us about a dental check at their next visit!

🦅 Bird Flu (H5N1) - Avian Influenza Update ⚠

You may have seen the news - H5N1 bird flu has now been confirmed in NSW. It's part of a wider pattern of detections across Australia this year. The good news: there's no evidence of spread to poultry or backyard flocks, and the risk to people remains low. But it's a good time for all of us - especially bird owners - to stay informed.

We're still here to help wildlife. We'll continue to assess sick or injured wild birds and animals as normal - just please call ahead first so our team can take the right precautions before you arrive.

If you find a sick or dead wild bird:
🚫 Don't touch or approach it
📍 Note the location (and a photo if it's safe to take one)
📞 Report it to the Emergency Animal Disease Hotline: 1800 675 888

If you have pet birds or backyard chickens, watch for:
• Sudden death
• Lethargy or loss of appetite
• Breathing difficulty
• Tremors, stumbling, or seizures
• Vomiting or diarrhoea
• Swelling around the head or reduced egg production

If your bird seems unwell, please call us before coming in. This lets us prepare properly so we can keep your pet, our other patients, and our team safe.
Good hygiene and keeping pet birds away from wild birds where possible go a long way. As always, we're here if you have questions - just give us a call. 🐾

🐾 Meet Priscilla - Veterinary Nurse 🐾

Priscilla found her calling in animal care after secretly fostering two stray kittens in her dorm room - a month that convinced her to change career paths and never look back. She loves the fulfilling mix of hands-on medicine and client care: preventing and treating illnesses, supporting owners, and helping strengthen the special bond between people and their pets.

At home, Priscilla shares her life with Blinx, a blind cat she fell in love with when Blinx arrived as a 5-week-old stray. Now confident navigating the house, Blinx even enjoys harness walks, curiosity and all.

When she’s not at the clinic, Priscilla is happiest outdoors - climbing, hiking, running, scuba diving, snorkeling, or soaking up sunshine at the beach. If she could be any animal, she says she’d be a seal: playful, water-loving, and able to sunbake all day.
