🧡🐶 NEW! Two homemade feeding guides for dogs with heart disease!
Did you know that a dog’s nutritional needs can change as heart disease progresses?
One of the biggest differences is how much sodium should be restricted.
🧡 EARLY CARDIAC DISEASE
Moderate sodium restriction is recommended, alongside adequate protein, omega-3 fatty acids and maintaining a healthy body weight.
🧡 ADVANCED CARDIAC DISEASE
More stringent sodium restriction may be needed, particularly in dogs with congestive heart failure. Maintaining muscle mass, adequate calorie intake and good palatability also become especially important.
🥩 What if your dog needs a low-fat diet too?
Both of our new feeding guides offer flexible ingredient choices, including lower-fat recipes for dogs with additional dietary requirements.
Our guides use CompleteMe Hypo Canine Plus to help you prepare complete and balanced homemade meals with controlled sodium and plenty of ingredient variety.
Because managing heart disease through nutrition isn’t one-size-fits-all! 🧡

Always discuss dietary changes with your dog’s treating veterinarian, particularly if they have congestive heart failure or are receiving cardiac medications.
