🐾 Meet Miss Willow!

Willow is a 12-month-old Border Collie joining us for our 2-Week Training Programme.

During her stay, our focus will be on improving her reactivity towards other dogs and developing a calmer, more reliable loose-leash walk.

At this age, early guidance and the right structure can make a huge difference. We’ll be working on building her confidence, improving her focus and helping her learn how to make better choices around distractions.

We’re excited to see her progress over the next two weeks!

Why does play look (and sound!) so intense sometimes?

Growling during play isn’t a sign of aggression.
Actually it’s completely normal dog communication.

Mr Bundy tends to be more vocal than most, but the sound alone doesn’t tell you what’s actually going on.

What we’re looking at instead:

🐾 Body language — loose, wiggly posture vs. stiff and tense
🐾 Bite inhibition — controlled, soft mouthing, not hard bites
🐾 Self-interruption — do they pause and re-engage, or does one dog try to get away?
🐾 Reciprocity — are roles switching, or is it one-sided?

Vocalisation is just one piece of the puzzle, and on its own it doesn’t mean much. Some dogs play loud, some play silent — it comes down to individual style, not intent.

Understanding these signals is a big part of what we do here at Bond & Beyond Dog Specialist — reading dogs properly, not just reacting to noise.

Farewell, Mr Oscar 💛

Today we said goodbye to one of our daycare members.

Mr Oscar has been part of the Bond & Beyond family for a long time!

From his very first visits to becoming one of the pack, he’s grown, played, and made his mark on all of us.

We’ll miss you, mate. Once a Bond & Beyond dog, always a Bond & Beyond dog. 🐾💛
