And just like that… we need a new home. 💔🐾

We really thought we had it all figured out.

After finally finding what we believed was the perfect property for Maggie’s, we've now been told we need to move. As a result, the place currently home to around 20 dogs will no longer be available to us after the end of August.

Right now, we're doing everything we can to work out our next steps and ensure the dogs in our care remain safe, supported, and loved. But we can't do this alone.
We need your help.

We're urgently looking for:
🏡 A property with a house and ideally existing kennels, or suitable zoning that would allow us to create temporary facilities - ideally located within a 1-1.5 hour radius of Sydney but we’ll consider anything at the minute
📍 Any leads on a property that could work, even as a short-term solution while we secure something permanent.
📦 Large storage options for shelter equipment, supplies, and essentials.
🐕 Foster homes for medium to large dogs currently waiting at our shelter.
💡 Ideas, contacts, connections, or opportunities we may not have thought of.
🛠️ Skills, expertise, or resources that could help us navigate this huge transition.

This isn't the update we ever wanted to share, but if there's one thing we've learned, it's that this community shows up when it's needed most.

🚨 FOSTER to ADOPT WANTED FOR CLEO WHOSE ONLY CRIME IS AGAINST PUBLIC PERCEPTION 🚨

Cleo is what happens when a Kelpie and a Ridgeback look at each other and say, “You know what this world needs? A bulldozer with a cuddle fetish.”

The result?
A dog built like every female security guard on the Gold Coast nightclub scene but emotionally? She’s as gentle as your primary school English teacher who you still thank to this day.

Unfortunately for cleo, the universe gave her the face of a low-budget Rottweiler from Temu which means people are scared of her by association.

She looks like she runs an underground fight club but actually cries during romcoms and if she has to shoo a spider outside.

People see her and assume:
❌ “Aggressive.”
❌ “Scary.”
❌ “Probably sells v**e pens to teenagers.”

Reality:
✅ affectionate
✅ loyal
✅ smart as hell
✅ would probably apologise to a chair after bumping into it

This poor girl is the victim of canine profiling so had ended up on DEATHROW.

She didn’t ask to come out looking like she collects debts for the mafia. Underneath the “meet me behind the servo” aesthetic is a genuinely sweet dog desperate for someone to see past the tough exterior. She is a lap dog. (Ish).

Big dog people get this.
The world loves fluffy teddy bears until a dog has a broad head and muscles, then suddenly Angela is clutching her Cavoodle shaped pearls.

Cleo needs a home that understands dogs with presence. Someone who won’t reduce her to her looks. Someone who understands that some of the softest dogs come packaged like they’ve done time.

Judge her on her heart.
Not the fact she looks like she benches small hatchbacks for fun.

So people wanting a big sookie lala ...youre up!!
