Update on TAM'S CATS

I recently posted that after spending 10 months alone but fed by family in Tam's unit after she passed away and found a beautiful ideal adoption for them by a lovely lady Janet in Riverwood nearly 5 months ago.

It was the perfect rehome as Janet lived her life similar to Tam, single quiet lady and the kitties were really settling with her...

Then so very sad and unexpectedly she was admitted to hospital recently with an aggressive and advanced illness and
shockingly passed away overnight last
Friday. It has shocked us all.

Once we heard on Thursday she was in hospital we went into full throttle to try and get them a place these poor cats can again move to and decompress. They have been fed the past few weeks by family staying in the unit.

My beautiful friend Denise and Tam's niece Isabella along with myself have been in constant contact organising, paperwork, placement and liaising with Janet's sister Claire.

One rescue that we feel is perfect for them has said they will take them and let them just be themselves, shower with love until they find their most perfect quiet home once again and hopefully their last. We will stay in contact to ensure everything goes smoothly.
Their room is getting freshened up now and they have an enclosed catio to go to when confident enough and will be delivered by Tam's niece on Saturday.

Good luck Timmy and Ollie we only hope the very best for you...you deserve it so much.

They will just need time now to process everything and luckily have each other.

PIPPI your adorable. ADOPT me

Pippi is our superhero boy that recently gave his blood to save the life of a rescue friend's own kitty who was crashing fast.

He once was a really shy, hiding boy, but has become so confident in the past 10 months or so meeting everyone that comes along to adopt.

This sweet boy will love to follow his companion human around and be inclusive in their
daily life. At just 3 years old he is the perfect age being playful and settled.

He will be fine with older gentle children but fine for most home situations.
He is a very gentle soul with the most beautiful big round green eyes.

GOTCHA Mrs Kanga !!!!!

This very pregnant Tortie girl has been SO clever in taking trails and not going fully inside the traps.....until TODAY...
Its literally been months of both Sylvia and I trying and so glad with Sylvia's engineering degree she could finally make the drop trap automatic this week as well as I bought the wifi camera to set up so we could be a distance away from her and press the button on the trigger....

SNAP ....OMG !!!!

First video is Mrs Kanga inside and Sylvia was sitting around the corner watching on her phone......BOOM !!
She Covered the trap straight away to settle her down.
Sylvia called me and I had just got back from driving out to Colyton with Jazzy so luckily home...

I wanted to do the transfer from the Drop Trap to the Pedal Trap myself....

Nearly could have been a disaster as one side of the pull up door wasn't in the channel 🙄😶 but was a good save.

Next was to set up the crate with the trap inside for her to hide in but food and litter accessible. Trap door pulled up 1/2 way so she can come and go but usually they choose to stay inside trap when they are street cats.

We have cable tied the crate doors as this very street wise kitty is NOT escaping.

Soooo relieved we can now get on with attending to everything else rather than taking turns sitting for hours on end waiting for her to go inside the trap

Some updates for you as Mondays is grandmother duties so will share some news...

Firstly our miracle girl JAZZY is back to Colyton vet tomorrow for her recheck after surgery and hopefully have her stitches removed. She has been a very good girl and has not scratched at her neck.
The stitches are on both sides of her neck as both ear canals had polyps.

Poor baby girl must be feeling very uncomfortable with the tightness of the throat.
She is such a trooper.

Thankyou Special Aunty sponsor Leeanne and the many beautiful people who donated towards her surgery it is truly heart-warming.
Of the $3,900 cost we raised $2,600 so thankyou thankyou thankyou🥰❤.

This is hopefully the last stage for Jazzy before recovery and then can promote her for her very special home.

Today on the way to grandmother duties i spent 2 hours trying to trap Mrs Kanga. This girl is the hardest ive EVER experienced.
Sylvia and I have spent countless hours, she is VERY VERY pregnant !!!!!!🥺🙈
I have now purchased a wifi camera and remote trigger which has made the drop trap automatic on the door. Sylvia has hooked it up. Its great as can be out to near the road a the trigger works.

She is not a fan 9f going through the door and just goes 1/3 way in takes the trail and but just won't go fully inside.🙄
So this is why I'm not contactable or online etc as this is our priority right now...
Wish us luck for tomorrow, we need it.

Big fella PRINCE ALADDIN is off for a massive haircut on Wednesday. I am hoping he can keep his locks but his thick matting is knotted right to his skin so i fear the worst that he will have his fluffy head and tail most likely but it will grow back as we know. He will feel sooo much better.

His mouth will also be checked for future dental/cleaning and his bloods will be taken.

Years of being on the street has taken its toll.
Being on the street he also wasn't used to the litter box but I can say with all certainty that he IS litter trained now....he is a very obedient boy and was easily trained.

What i do know is that he is 8 years old and an absolute sweetheart just wanting human company all the time. He is not cat friendly and hasn't been tested on dogs but is an Alpha male so no other cats is best....he possibly would be ok with slow introduction but preference to none.

He will be best suited to a family or couple working from home so he can lay at your feet but no applications just yet please.

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Its a good morning from Durian and Tina Tabby.
Both rescue kitties who are now sweet confident and happy kitties for adoption.
Bonded after rescue but both totally fine to go home as solo kitties.

Durian originally dumped with a litter of younger kittens at a Riverwood Housing complex. I think he was a totally different litter and a little older...the mind boggles !

This Sweet and gentle little one that was rescued when crying constantly at midnight outside in the raining weather. He was just a little kitten, had ringworm which was fully treated and has had all his vet work.

Louie is now ready to go home and give lots of cuddles.🥰

Lomani, affectionately known as Lomi, is a beautiful 3.5-year-old medium-haired tabby with the silkiest soft coat, the fluffiest tail and gorgeous light green eyes. She’s a wonderfully easygoing girl who combines affection and companionship with a lovely independent streak.

Lomi loves to keep an eye on the world around her. You’ll often find her happily chilling in her cosy bed by the window or perched on a windowsill. She also has a particular love for her Sherpa blanket, because every sophisticated girl needs her favourite cosy spot!

When you arrive home, Lomi is often there to welcome you, ready for some gentle pats and affection. She loves being close to her people and will happily lay behind your head on your pillow, or settle herself on the arm of the sofa beside you while you relax. She has a beautiful purr and the sweetest way of looking at you with those gorgeous green eyes that makes you feel very loved!

She enjoys a good play with her bird wand but she’s equally content doing her own thing.

Lomi would be happy in a home with other cats, and she grew up with a large, cat-friendly dog who she got along with beautifully. She would also be suited to a home with children who understand how to be gentle and respectful with cats. Equally, she’d be happy as a solo cat. She’s simply looking for a loving home where she can feel safe and adored.

Sadly, Lomi’s story began in a heartbreaking way. As a young cat, a child threw her at someone’s front door. The incident was captured on a security camera. It’s difficult to understand how such a beautiful and loving girl could have had so little interest shown in her. In her 3.5 years, she has had just one meet and greet.

Lomi truly deserves someone to see what everyone else has somehow missed.

She is affectionate without being demanding, playful without being hyperactive, and perfectly happy to keep herself entertained when you’re busy. She would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a calm, loving cat who simply wants to be near you and share your home.

This girl was a bundle of energy as a kitten who is now settling down in her juvenile age.

She is only still with us as she needs an extremely secure, vigilant adopter with a big home and would be awesome to have a catio or fully enclosed cat friendly yard.

Vivien is so beautiful but like all cats she is curious, combined with her energetic nature she has the ability to slip past you without even seeing.

She is dog like and wants to just be with her humans. She follows us around from room to room and always wants to go where she is not allowed, its different here in a multi cat home and some cats are not friendly to intruders in their areas😁

She is a great kitty that knows her name and runs upstairs to "help" us.

Vivien is cat friendly and fully able to entertain herself by tagging along with you.

She loves a tall cat tree at a window bird watching.

Apartment living is not for Vivien as she really needs space. Her perfect home is a non smoking 2 storey with enclosed sunroom or catio attached....or yard fully netted.

I know its a big ask but she was adopted to a unit months ago and escaped off the balcony only hours later when the man went out to v**e even when he had closed screen door behind him (she ran out WITH him). 3 nights later trapped and returned to us. She has never got outside here but we understand how quick she was.....not quite as much now as she is getting older but still concerning.

If you are wanting a beautiful, chatty loyal dog like companion and you have a safe home and are an OCD checker then I have the cat for you !😆
