Puppy in training 🐾🎓

Little Ellie is learning the ropes one tiny paw at a time. Lots to learn, lots to sniff, and plenty of cuteness along the way.

An interesting case study on effectiveness of acupuncture as a combination treatment:
Ear infections aren’t just painful — they can knock your pet’s whole system out of balance.
Acupuncture can help ease inflammation, relieve pain, and support healing from within.
This article from CIVT explores how Traditional Chinese Medicine can work alongside veterinary diagnosis and treatment to support your animal’s recovery.

Puppy socialisation isn’t just about playdates – it’s a crucial part of raising a confident, well-adjusted dog. Early exposure to different people, animals, sounds, and environments helps puppies grow into calm, resilient adults. The first few months are a golden window for learning – make every new experience a positive one!
🐾 🧡
Charlie wasn’t too sure about puppy Javier at first – and that’s totally okay! Not every first meeting goes smoothly, and socialisation isn’t about forcing friendships. It’s about giving our dogs time, space, and positive experiences. With a bit of patience, trust can grow. Keep trying, stay calm, and let them go at their own pace.

Seeing 16-year-old Bahuan thrive again has been one of my most rewarding moments. With an extensive acupuncture protocol, a nourishing wholefood diet, and thoughtful changes around the home, I saw incredible improvements in his kyphosis, cognitive function, and appetite.

When I was first called to help, Bahuan had been on Beransa for about 3–4 months. Sadly, the medication had triggered a noticeable decline—he became withdrawn, lost his appetite, and was no longer interested in relaxing in his favourite spot in the sun. It was clear his system needed gentle, holistic support to restore his balance.

I started by shifting him to a wholefood diet: fresh, high-quality protein 🍗 , lightly steamed vegetables 🥕 , and homemade supplements 🥚 focused on joint health and comfort. Gradually, his spark returned—he became brighter, more engaged, and his appetite improved.

I also made simple but impactful changes at home. Raising his food and water bowls to head height eased the strain on his spine, while adding rugs helped him move more confidently and safely around the house. ✨

This is why I love house visits—because true healing happens when I see the animal in their own space, understand their everyday challenges, and create a plan that supports their whole self: body, mind, and environment. 🐾

Hi, I’m Naiara—founder of BACANA, which stands for Better Animal Care and Nutrition Awareness. I bring natural therapies like acupuncture, nutrition support, and hands-on care straight to your pet’s comfort zone—your home.

BACANA is all about working with your pet’s body, not against it. We tap into ancient medicine, practical science, and the subtle signs animals give us every day to help them feel balanced, seen, and understood.

✨ Our new series is just beginning: I’ll be showing how acupuncture channels tell the story of your pet’s health—and how we gently bring them back into flow.

Stick around, ask questions, and let’s give your animal the care they truly deserve. 💛
