BB Murrays NSW "Murray River Retriever"

Thank you for your help in keeping the Murray River Retriever alive, an Australian icon
and Australia's only home grown retriever. A "Jack of all Trades".

The earliest reference has been traced back to 1844 The Murray River Retriever is the only Group 3 Gundog whose country of development is Australia. Murrays have remained true to type since the 1800s and have been identified by DNA as not related to any other modern breed of dog. Initially used for duck hunting, they were versatile for flushing and pointing for birds and tracking other game. They

have been trained for hunting, bomb detection, assistance and search and rescue. Australia's own home grown Retriever

At BB Murrays NSW, we work strongly with the MRRA to ensure the breed line remains true to its nature,
As breeders of the Murray River Retriever, we are dedicated to ensure this beautiful natured breed continues its rich history in working and remaining a friendly family dog. The Murray is a medium sized dog roughly 46-.53 cm (18-21”).
